We are hereby grateful to our Introduction to Statistics’ course instructor, Dr. Javed Iqbal,
who has given us the opportunity to perform statistical analysis on a certain task and produce
a report on it. It is because of his efforts and dedication that this is possible and we are able to
write this report.
Introduction:
The prices of different models of mobile phones manufactured by different mobile companies
vary because of certain factors. These factors might either be qualitative, such as brand
loyalty, or quantitative, such as Storage. In this report, we have focused on quantitative
factors and have compared the prices of different phones through regression based on these
factors. We have considered top mobile companies and have compared the phones with
similar characteristics statistically by using the measures that we have already studied and the
measures that we are studying currently so we can we get an idea of how things that we have
studied in our course can be used in the practical world to analyse different situations.
We have considered 5 different independent variables: Camera Pixels, Battery Life, Screen
Size, RAM, and Storage of 2 models from each company. We have analysed the information
and performed a descriptive analysis of prices and comparisons across brands with similar
characteristics. The information is taken from www.mega.pk.
Abstract:
In this report, the prices are compared across different brands based on the independent
variables through only regression analysis. The methodology is as follows:
