PPT PRESENTATION
My Reflection:

As I sit down here on the other side of my room, to reflect on my topic about
which is TYPES OF COMMUNICATION IMPAIRMENTS AND DISORDERS,
COMPONENTS OF LANGUAGE, TYPES OF SPEECH IMPAIRMENTS.
I was thinking about how can I reflect on those topics of mine. And I don’t even
know where should I start. Having a disorder in communication and speaking is
not easy just like me I have this voice disorder or resonance.
Especially when I talk, I can't control the volume of my voice which will
distract the listeners and they will be misunderstood they will think that I was
shouting at them. And it’s hard for me because when it comes to talking with
others, they are not informed about that and they think that I’m shouting at them.
And also, I have this cousin that has a fluency disorder he was stuttering when he
talks and some people are laughing about his condition.

I will reflect on this topic not only to me but with the others that have this condition
or this disorder in communication. Some people are not informed or not
knowledgeable about this kind of disorder so they will just laugh without
understanding the situation of a person who has this kind of disorder.
Some child with a communication disorder has trouble communicating with
others. They didn’t know the cause, maybe biological or environmental.

We can communicate to the person with a communication disorder using our

regular tone of voice without shouting. Be patient because it may make the
person extra time to communicate. Do not speak for the person or complete the
person's sentences.
CULMINATING ACTIVITY

General Assessment of Learning Outcomes LEARNING OUTCOMES:

1. Narrate experiences gained from the presentation of your classmate
2. Cite significant reflections from the course

A. LEARNING INSIGHTS
I realized that understanding diversity is important in the learning process
because studies have shown that having diverse classrooms help develop
tolerance and a greater sense of security when in environments with other
foreign cultures present. It also helps students learn about other languages and
cultures, encouraging them to be interculturally sensitive.
And diversity is important in education when working and learning with
people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures present in the classroom,
students gain a more comprehensive understanding of the subject matter. It
also teaches students how to use their strengths and points of view to contribute
to a diverse working environment.
BUT since we are all created equal about God, we all have equal dignity as
earthly children of our heavenly Father. Every human being deserves our
respect. A rich man is neither more important nor entitled to more consideration
than a poor man, and a Jew is not more entitled to the kingdom of God than a
Gentile. The point of Romans 2:11 is to remind us that God is a just judge and
that all will face the same judgment of the law and an opportunity of His mercy.
God shows no partiality (Deuteronomy 10:17).

I also noticed that these child development theories are indeed important
in the teaching-learning process because first, it provides a much-needed
context for understanding how learners typically progress. It also helps teachers
as they assist parents in educational decisions. Understanding child
development also helps teachers assess the source of a student's struggles.
Studying child development is a crucial part of becoming a teacher. This might
not seem obvious as first, as most people associate teaching with merely
passing on subject content to students. However, it is not just subject knowledge
that matters when it comes to being a good teacher.
And it will help teachers connect to all different kinds of students.
Teachers can focus on different learning styles to reach different students,
creating teaching that focuses directly on student needs and aptitudes.

I was able to demonstrate how strategies and inclusive practices can be

integrated into the curriculum and delivery of instruction through embrace and
celebrate every child's uniqueness. treat all children and their families equally
and with respect. include and support every child, regardless of ethnic
background, culture, language, gender, socio-economic background, or
disability. ensure that every child can participate in activities. Children should be
supported to: feel safe and welcome in the setting develop a sense of
belonging learn and develop at their own pace to reach their full potential.

A. MY LEARNING EXPERIENCES

How does diversity encourage innovation and problem solving?

Fill in the following sentence:

I AM (a/an) Romana Ramos my ambition is to become a successful teacher and

I am NOT (a/an) going to give up my dream just because I’m struggling with my
studies.

What is special needs education?

Ans: Education is designed to facilitate the learning of individuals who, for

a wide variety of reasons, require additional support and adaptive pedagogical
methods to participate and meet learning objectives in an educational program.
Educational program in special needs education may follow a similar curriculum
as that offered in the parallel regular education system, however, they take
individuals’ particular needs into account by providing specific resources (e.g.,
specially trained personnel, equipment, or space) and, if appropriate, modified
educational content or learning objectives. These programs can be offered for
individual students within already existing educational programmed, or be
offered as a separate class in the same or separate educational institutions.

How different is it from inclusive education?

Ans: Inclusive education allows children with special needs to receive a

free and appropriate education along with general education students in the
regular classroom.

How important are models of disability?

Ans; It is important because They provide an insight into the attitudes,

conceptions and prejudices of the former and how they impact on the latter.
From this, Models reveal the ways in which our society provides or limits access to
work, goods, services, economic influence and political power for people with
disabilities.

How can they affect students and the different stakeholders of special needs and
inclusive education?

Ans: Having a disability can be one of the most marginalizing factors in a

child’s life. In education, finding ways to meet the learning needs of students with
disabilities can be challenging, especially in schools, districts, regions, and
countries with severely limited resources. Inclusive education—which fully
engages all students, including students with disabilities or other learning
challenges, in quality education—has proven particularly effective in helping all
students learn, even while challenges to implementing inclusive education
systems remain.

What is differentiation?

Ans: Differentiation is one of three elements of personalized learning and

involves changing the instructional approach to meet the diverse needs of
students. Differentiation may involve designing and delivering instruction using an
assortment of teaching styles and giving students options for taking in information
and making sense of ideas.

How different are accommodations from modifications?

Ans: Accommodations are procedures that alter how a student learns by

changing the procedures. Modifications, on the other hand, refer to the process
of altering what a student or pupil learns or is being tested on.

When should we accommodate and when do we modify?

Ans: The best way to differentiate accommodation and modification is that

the accommodation is providing a way that a student can learn and be tested
on the same material as others, and modification is when it is decided that what
is being expected of the child is modified in a manner that affords him or her the
best chance for success based on ability. The terms are not interchangeable. Not
understanding the difference between the two could cause a scenario where a
child is provided an entirely different learning experience. Because modifications
lower student expectations, they are typically considered after all attempts at
accommodation have been exhausted. But sometimes, a teacher’s assessment
that calls for a modification may take an inaccurate view of a child’s capabilities.
If the parent goes into a conference unaware of what these terms mean, a child
that is capable of doing grade-level work with a few accommodations could end
up learning modified material based on a false inference.

Schools that abide by highly traditional views of teaching and learning oftentimes
view accommodations, such as time extension in tests and exams or providing
an alternative output to supplement a lengthy written report, as being "unfair" to
typically developing children. It is argued that expectations and provision of
whatever support should be the same for the children. Knowing the different
components as well as views on inclusive education, do you agree? Explain your
answer
Look for photos of yours (Stage in child development where puberty begins)-
Infancy, Early Childhood, Middle Childhood, Adolescence)
Compare and contrast the learners with additional needs based on the
identification and learning characteristics.

What educational approaches can be used to teach learners how to care for
themselves?

Ans: Self-care Because teaching is such an intensive job, educators can

greatly benefit from learning about and practicing self-care. Unfortunately,
teachers may worry that taking care of themselves can lead to self-absorption
and distract them from their students. However, despite the misleading title, self-
care isn’t at all about selfishness. In fact, practicing self-care can be in the best
interest of everyone in your classroom. Self-care is all about taking care of your
health and making sure that you have everything you need to thrive as a teacher.
Without taking care of yourself, you won’t have the energy to help your students.

What practices and behavior define marginalization?

Ans: the process of relegating or confining to a lower or outer limit or edge,

as of social standing. ... Marginalization at the individual level results in an
individual's exclusion from meaningful participation in society.
Create a charter that you can propose to world leaders on behalf of the
marginalized children in this world.
C.MESSAGE
What have you learned in this subject? Did you enjoy the class discussions? What
lessons can you impart to others? Is this subject important to you? Agree or
disagree. Why?

I have learned a lot in this subject which is (Foundation of special and

inclusive education) because our teacher taught us a lot about this subject
especially about diversity. Diversity makes me a more aware and well-rounded
person; it keeps me accountable for what I say. And the lesson that I can impart
to others is that Diversity boosts creativity You probably worked with similar people
most of your life. In a diverse team where people of different ages, races, gender,
and nationality work together you will come up with more creative approaches
than in an environment where people think alike a lot. And this subject is
important to me. And I agree with it. Because it taught us a lot even sometimes, I
can’t understand the topic maybe because the reporter can’t deliver properly
their report.
