BENEFITS IN USING ICT IN ENTREPRENERSHIP

1. Improves the management of a business in the area in the area of accountancy, stock
control, inventory etc.
2. Make it easier to access online registration of a business
3. Facilitates better communication clients and providers such as using e-mail or social
media or by providing a web page or website.
4. Develops computer skills for e-learning, networking etc.
5. Optimize resources and improve the marketing of their products and services

HOW DO BUSINESSES USE INTERNET?

TO ADVERTISE
- It is interactive, providing an informative and educational experience for the visitor. When
people visit your pages, they usually access the site via link that explains the nature of the
content they can expect to find, so they won’t be disappointed.

TO COMMUNICATE
- To maximize your return from the internet, you need to understand its benefits, and how
you can harness these so that you may incorporate them within your internet business
strategy.

TO ENTERTAIN
- The frivolous side of the internet makes it into an advertising medium, to generate sales
and to establish and help reinforce a brand name.

TO INFORM
- Academics can establish themselves, their departments and institutes as centers of
excellence-and then sell consultancy services, products, technology.

The major newspapers have all committed themselves to publishing on a daily basis on the
web. Not only are they developing and expanding their sites they are also attracting digital
advertising from major industrial manufacturers and suppliers of goods and services.

TO RECRUIT
Numerous recruitment agencies are beginning to employ Web as a source for not only potential
candidates but also for corporate employers to register vacancies.

TO RESEARCH
Research is not just for academics. It can be used to find financial results, technologies,
solutions, suppliers and experts. It can suggest new product areas, new markets. It can
produce new business alliances and partnerships.

TO SELL
Anything that is sold by mail order cold equally be sold on the internet. New services can be
created that the use internet technologies to deliver goods through new outlets with greater
convenience.

TO SUPPORT
The prime example of support given over the web is offered by Netscape. Their browser
appears with no help files-this makes it smaller, more quickly delivered. Instead the ‘help”
menu points back to home base.

Ways and techniques that advertisers use to convince consumers to buy their products:
Association
- Using images so they can relate themselves about the image to the product.
Call to action
- Telling them what to do with certainty like "Buy today!" removes doubt about the next steps.
Claim
- Informing how the product works or helps you.
Games and activities
- Putting an ad in the form of a game to get them excited and spend more time with the
product.

Humor
- Using ads that make them laugh and catch their attention.

Hype
- Using words like amazing and incredible make products seem really exciting.

Must-have
- Suggesting that they must have the product to be happy, popular, or satisfied.

Fear
- Using a product to solve something they worry about, like pimples.

Prizes, sweepstakes, and gifts


- Using a chance to win a prize to attract attention.

Repetition
- Repeating a message or idea so they remember it.

Sales and price


- Showing or announcing a discounted price can make a product look better.

Sense appeal
- Using images and sounds to appeal to their senses: sight, touch, taste, etc.

Special ingredients
- Promoting a special ingredient may make them think the product works better than others.

Testimonials and endorsements


- Featuring someone, like a celebrity, saying how the product worked for them can be
convincing.
