Culture Fair Intelligence Test
-measure individual intelligence in a manner designed to reduce, as much as possible, the influence
of verbal fluency, cultural climate, and educational level.
Scale 1- 4-8 years old, may also be used for handicapped individuals, not exclusively group
administrable
-can appropriately be used with children as young as eight years and equally appropriate with older
children and most adults.
- can be administered to college students or with individuals with higher ability level.
Choice of scales, the test administrator should be guided by his own evaluation of potential
ability level to be tested. When he reasonably anticipates ceiling effects with scale 2 he
would use scale 3 *
-can be used both for normal and psychiatric populations for the selection of appropriate
treatment programs
-can be used in clinical setting, personnel selection,
-used extensively in the classification of young offenders.
-useful in determining the progress of individuals undergoing treatment for alcohol and
drug dependency, chronic renal failure, pain perception and fibrositis, eating disorders.
