1). History & Necessity:- The RCC Footbridge at Tongry
Nallha Zanipora near Girls high School was washed away due to
floods of Sept. 2014. The village got cut off from the main road causing
great inconvenience to vehicular movement and general public. There
is urgent necessity of construction of Footbridge at Zanipora near Girls
school to give connectivity to mitigate the sufferings of inhabitants.
The footbridge will benefit about 50,000 souls.

2). Proposals:-
a). Sub-structure: There is boulder strata all along and
around the Bridge site, as such open foundation
and RCC abutments are proposed with proper
protection work both on the upstream as well as
downstream sides of Bridge.

b). Super-structure: The super-structure is proposed


to be steel Girder bridge laid over with chequered
plate decking.

. Asphaltic concrete wearing coat as per the clause 2702.1


of MORTH specifications with 2.5% slope on either
side of the centre of the bridge will be provided.
Railing is proposed to be provided in steel having a
clear height of 1.10 m supported over kerbs with
total width of 0.30m. Reinforced concrete approach
slab covering the entire width of the roadway shall
be provided having 0.30m thickness and 3.5m
length. Drainage along longitudinal direction shall
be ensured by drainage spouts.
3). Project Cost:-
The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 91.84 Lacs

4). Time of Completion:-


The project shall be completed in two working seasons
subject to availability of funds.
