Evaluation Week 8
1. Make an inventory list (at least 5) of gadgets, devices, appliances, and any equipment
that can be found in your house/apartment where you presently live. Classify them
according to their usefulness to you. Place in one column a list of what you think are
useful to you while in another column a list of those which you think are useless, but it
is still there in your house/apartment anyway.
2. In your inventory, rank the items in the ‘Useful Technologies’ column according to their
usefulness (rank 1st the most useful). In the same way for the ‘Useless Technologies’
column, rank the items according to their uselessness (rank 1st the most useless).
3. Observe the ranking you gave. Is the rank 1st in your useful technologies a complete
opposite of the rank 1st in your useless technologies? Give your criteria on how you
chose your 1st among the useful and 1st among the useless technologies. Have you
considered safety, emotional attachment, and morality in your ranking, or did you have
other criteria? Explain.
Electricity is one of the greatest innovations we have both inside and outside our
homes. It supplies us the light, electricity, and power that enable all appliances and
gadgets, such as smartphones and computers, to function. We would not be able to take
advantage of the benefits provided by these devices without this innovation because they
would not operate unless they were charged or plugged into an outlet. Meanwhile, the
DVD player is the least useful due to its obsolescence and the rapid drop in DVD demand,
as most people nowadays tend to watch and download online rather than purchase a CD.
Yes, indeed. In determining my ranking, I took into account not only the
protection, emotional attachment, and morality, but also the benefits they provide in
today's world. As a result, I have concluded that the most useful item mentioned above
has more advantages than risks.
