POLLUTION
AIR pollution
Water pollution
 Causes and solutions
Causes of air pollution
EXCESSIVE energy use and production.
Burning fossil fuels releases gases and chemicals into the air. (factories in industrial
zones) – NOWADAYS WITH THE INCREASING OPERATION OF FACTORIES IN
INDUSTRIAL ZONES, MORE GASES, ESPECIALLY TOXIC ONES HAVE BEEN
GIVEN OFF/ EMITTED INTO THE AIR. THE AMOUNT OF THESE GASES HAS
EXCEEDED THE ALLOWED LEVEL, THUS CONTAMINATING THE AIR AT AN
UNCONTROLLABLE SPEED.
These are also most often emitted during gas or coal combustion, incinerating
(HOUSEHOLD), or—in the case of benzene—found in gasoline (TRANSPORT)
EFFECTS
air pollution contributes to climate change SINCE Air pollution in the form of carbon
dioxide and methane raises the earth’s temperature. AND IN RETURN,  Climate
change also increases the production of allergenic air pollutants, including mold
(thanks to damp conditions caused by extreme weather and increased flooding) and
pollen (due to a longer pollen season).
air pollution can pose severe health risks and can sometimes be fatal. Respiratory
illnesses are proved to be resulted from breathing polluted air in the long run.
Several severe cases caused by air pollution include lung cancer or skin cancer…
By trapping the earth’s heat in the atmosphere, greenhouse gases lead to warmer
temperatures, which in turn lead to the hallmarks of climate change: rising sea
levels, more extreme weather, heat-related deaths, and the increased transmission
of infectious diseases.
Ex: Air pollution is now the world’s fourth-largest risk factor for early death.
SOLUTIONS
“The less gasoline we burn, the better we’re doing to reduce air pollution and harmful
effects of climate change,” Walke says. “Make good choices about transportation.
When you can, walk, ride a bike, or take public transportation. For driving, choose a
car that gets better miles per gallon of gas, or choose an electric car.” You can also
investigate your power provider options—you may be able to request that your
electricity be supplied by wind or solar. Buying your food locally cuts down on the
fossil fuels burned in trucking or flying food in from across the country. And most
important, “Support leaders who push for clean air and water and responsible steps
on climate change,” Walke says.
1. the best, most effective way to control air pollution is to speed up our transition to
cleaner fuels and industrial processes. By switching over to renewable energy
sources (such as wind and solar power), maximizing fuel efficiency in our vehicles,
and replacing more and more of our gasoline-powered cars and trucks with electric
versions, we'll be limiting air pollution at its source while also curbing the global
warming that heightens so many of its worst health impacts.

WATER POLLUTION
Causes: release/give off
Toxic substances from farms, towns, and factories readily dissolve into and mix with
it, causing water pollution.
Around the world, agriculture is the leading cause of water degradation.  farming and
livestock production using about 70 percent of the earth’s surface water supplies
More than 80 percent of the world’s wastewater flows back into the environment
without being treated or reused
Big spills may dominate headlines, but consumers account for the vast majority of oil
pollution in our seas, including oil and gasoline that drips from millions of cars and
trucks every day

EFFECTS
it caused 1.8 million deaths in 2015, according to a study published in The Lancet
major cause of illness from contaminated drinking water. Diseases spread by unsafe
water include cholera, giardia, and typhoid.
Even swimming can pose a risk. Every year, 3.5 million Americans contract health
issues such as skin rashes, pinkeye, respiratory infections, and hepatitis from
sewage-laden coastal waters.
SOLUTION
 Reduce your plastic consumption and reuse or recycle plastic when you can.
 Properly dispose of chemical cleaners, oils, and non-biodegradable items to
keep them from ending up down the drain.
 Maintain your car so it doesn’t leak oil, antifreeze, or coolant.
 If you have a yard, consider landscaping that reduces runoff and avoid
applying pesticides and herbicides.
 If you have a pup, be sure to pick up its poop.

ENGLISH SPEAKING COUNTRIES

What are the advantages of learning English?
English has become a global language => learning English better your
employment opportunities.
Improve your communication, widen network.
Learning English as a foreign language is helpful for learning other fl.
Since English is quite similar to French or Latin, learning English can set a
base

NATURAL DISASTER
COMMUNICATION:
Social networks (fb, twitter, instagram):
advantages
1. the top news sources (breaking news) – speed and convenience (free of charge n
more available)

Social media users have been responsible for reporting events before
traditional media outlets, including the Paris attacks in France on Nov. 13,
2015 (Twitter, Facebook, and Vine),  the Ebola outbreak in Nigeria and
Sierra Leone in July 2014 (Twitter)

2. Social media allows people to improve their relationships and

make new friends.
Facebook use it to connect with family members

feel more connected to the people in their lives,

using it makes them feel supported in tough times

3. Social media helps empower business women.

4. Social media sites help employers find employees and job-seekers
find work. Linkedon

Hung King Temple Festival
(Early April)

Hung King Temple Festival is celebrated in the honour of Kinh Duong Vuong,
who was the first king of Vietnam in 2879BC. A hundred lanterns adorn the night
sky as a commemoration of this mighty king's contribution, while elaborate
worship rituals are held in the Hung Temple. The next morning sees a flower
ceremony that is held in the Den Thuong or Upper Temple. This is the ancient
site where the royalty offered their prayers to the Gods and Goddesses. The
ceremony is concluded with a procession that starts at the foot of the Nghia Linh
Mountain while enchanting performances of xoan classical songs and ca tru
classical operas.

TRADITION AND CUSTOMS

LIFE IN THE COUNTRYSIDE
Living in the city and in the countryside, which
do you prefer?
1. More job opportunities: In cities, there are more jobs and various
opportunities in different fields which helps the people to find a job
compared to the Villages or the Rural area’s . Although the job
market is a lot more competitive in cities but there are a lot of job
opportunities and a wide variety of jobs available that you can take
part in. If you need to develop a skill, it is also likely that you can do a
course to understand your skills and to get that job. If you are
educated, then there are more jobs available for labour jobs, clerks,
customer service to engineering jobs. This is one of the major
reasons many people migrate from rural areas and choose city
living. Urban Center are usually the places which are always full of
economic opportunities.
2. More chances of meeting new people: One of the major ways in
which people get new opportunities is through meeting people and
city life offers this. Where ever you go in the city, you will encounter
new people and will be in the mix of meeting someone who can
suggest an opportunity for you. There is also a lot of information and
knowledge available in large cities through the computer and
internet which might not be available in the rural areas. It’s likely you
will become friends with a few people as you become more familiar
with the city lifestyle and develop your own group of connections
and network which will offer more opportunities
3. Better infrastructure and education opportunities: There are
more educational opportunities and a lot of different courses and
institutions available in cities. Although they might be expensive,
it is also easier to get a bank loan in the city. If you have children,
then it might be better to migrate to the city as they will have a lot
more opportunities and will be exposed to a more modern
lifestyle. There is always an opportunity to learn something new
or develop something in a city. Since the pay is also higher in
cities, with your job it will be easier to save money for the child’s
education. Infrastructure is also linked with economic
development in a country. Smart city provide a more efficient set
of infrastructure.
4. More overall facilities and knowledge about health: There are
more opportunities for  medical care, a healthy lifestyle in cities
such as good doctors and vaccination opportunities. People are
known to live longer because they have purposeful lives and
dedicate themselves to more worthy causes. Even NGOs like
UNICEF work in major cities, bringing in more knowledge about
health issues where even the poor can get access to flu
vaccinations and other facilities. There might also be more
immunity because of the large population size. There are also
large pools of gyms and parks in cities that encourage people to
walk and exercise. But, one negative issue is the pollution that
might cause Ill-Health. Cities are struggling to tackle.

LEISURE ACTIVITIES
Write about a leisure activity that you do in
your free time.
Listening to Music
It’s not just for the birds! While the tastes might differ, music itself is nearly
universal. It’s also something we can do almost anywhere, with music
streaming services and phones capable of holding thousands of songs. Even
if you can’t take a real break from studying, listening to music while doing the
assignments can make it seem like less of a chore. It can even be a real
assignment help when you have trouble focusing! Do you want to upgrade
your music experience? Many colleges have information about live
performances happening nearby or even hosted by the school itself. So go to
the symphony concert or DJ performance. Enjoy yourself with live music.
Spending Quality Time with Friends and Family
Social media might be prominent, but nothing beats the old-fashioned face-to-
face contact with the ones you care about. There’s something about telling
friends stupid stories that no amount of likes can ever amount to. Humans are
social beings but can forget that when the schoolwork starts piling up. So call
your mom. Hit up your significant other. Make plans to hang out with those
you feel comfortable and have fun with. It helps relieve stress, keeps you
entertained, and holds the ones you care about close.
Browsing the Web
The internet has truly changed the world forever. We spend more and more
time online nowadays wherever we go. Is it any surprise that it’s a common
pastime for students? It has something for everyone. Want to laugh? There
are memes. Want to keep up with the news? Almost all the agencies have an
internet presence now. And we certainly can’t forget about social media!
Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and many others are just a tap away, as are
some of the best online casinos.
