---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This Design Analysis is prepared for the residential house of HERNAN / GRACE GUILLENA
PROJECT NAME : TWO (2) STOREY, TWO (2) BEDROOM RESIDENCE

OWNER : Hernan / Grace Guillena

LOCATION : Lot 2, Blk. 8, Southside Subdivision, Brgy. Sum-ag, Bacolod City

SUBJECT : Electrical Design Analysis in compliance with the requirements of

Section 1301 of the National Building Code and DPWH
Memorandum Circular No. 2 Series of 2015

OBJECTIVES :
● To provide design load analysis & establish proper
size/capacity of feeder and service entrance conductors
and equipment.
● Identify fault (short circuit) level at each bus for proper
sizing of the interrupting capacity of circuit breakers.
● Evaluate loading & feeder conductor sizes to ensure that
the voltage drop is within tolerable level thereby ensuring
good quality of power delivered to circuit loads.

MAIN DISTRIBUTION PANEL BOARD CONDUCTOR & PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:

Total Computed Current,

Lighting and Small Appliance Load = 75 m2 * 24va/m2

= 1,800 volt-ampere
Water Pump loads = 1,800 volt-ampere
Air-Con Load = 2,000 volt-ampere
-------------------------------
Total Computed Load = 5,600 volt-ampere

It = (5,600 + 0.25*2000)/230
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This Design Analysis is prepared for the residential house of HERNAN / GRACE GUILLENA
= 26.52 amps

Service Entrance Conductor:

Considering future loads and spare circuit,

Use 2 -22mm2 THHN as main service drop wire
+ 1- 8.0mm2 THW wire as Grounding Electrode Conductor in
25 mm dia. RSC pipe

Main Service Equipment:

It = 30 + (3600/230)
= 45.65 amps

1 - 80A, 250v, 10 kAIC, Molded Case Circuit Breaker

SHORT CIRCUIT CALCULATION :

Transformer Ifull load = (50)*(1000)/(230)

= 217.39 amperes

Transformer Multiplier = 100/1.5

= 66.66

Let-through Short circuit current

ISCA = (217.39)*(66.66)
= 14,489 amperes

f(transformer) = (2)*(30)*(14,489)/[2425 * 1 * 230]

= 1.5587

Multiplier = 1/(1+1.5587)
= 0.3908

Short circuit current at the Load Side of the Main Distribution Panel

ISC-transformer = (14,489)*(0.3908)
= 5,662.3 amperes

Therefore:
Considering fault impedance, the Main Circuit Breaker shall have a
minimum kAIC rating of 10 kA.
All downstream circuit breakers shall have a kAIC rating of 10kA.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This Design Analysis is prepared for the residential house of HERNAN / GRACE GUILLENA
VOLTAGE DROP CALCULATION:

Voltage at Transformer Secondary = 240 volts

Voltage Drop at the Terminal of Main Circuit Breaker

V.D. (Main CB) = (30)*(26.52)*(860)/1000000

= 0.6842 volts

Voltage Drop at the farthest Panel Board ( Circuit No. 5)

Circuit No. 5 (load = 8.70 Amp)

V.D. (@ Last L.O.) = (40)*(8.70)*(1995)/1000000

= 0.6943 volts

Total Voltage Drop from source to the farthest load of the system.

Voltage Droptotal = 0.6842 + 0.6943

= 1.3785 volts

Percent Voltage Drop = (1.3785)(100)/230

= 0.599%

Since the %V.D. < 5%, therefore the conductors are adequately sized.
