Linux Server and Network Administration

The major purpose of the internship was to configure and maintain servers using Linux at Daffodil Online Limited. The intern configured DHCP, web, mail, and other servers using Oracle VirtualBox. Servers were tested under different scenarios. The mail server consisted of server, client, and inbox components. When operating, the server accepts client connections via sockets and logs connection details. A syslog server was also configured to accept and save messages to a file. The internship provided valuable experience working with live servers.

Linux Server and Network Administration

The major purpose of this internship was to configure and maintain Abstract Server using Linux
Centos 6.3. DHCP server, web server, mail server and other servers are configured using the Oracle
virtual box. Configured servers were tested and properly executed in numerous scenarios at
different stages. The Mail Server consists of 3 modules - Server, Client and inbox. The server is
separated into 3 components. The server accepts connection from various clients via the socket
server class and all facts regarding the establishment, sending, reception and termination of the
client connection is stored on the server. When the server is operating, the client may connect to the
server and send and receive the e-mails.

A syslog server accepts and saves messages in a file. There is a fast increase in the quantity of syslog
messages from an ever-growing amount of networking devices. The human capabilities are not
enough to read all communications generated by active networking systems each day. Working at
Daffodil Online Limited live servers has added tremendous experience in the next job.

Presentation

The contemporary age of science and IT is now crucial to developing a more successful operational &
management procedure. For several days now the fastest-growing technologies in the world might
be data communication & networking. We realise that the Internet and its features have a profound
idea. The web becomes a key component of our daily lives, although the internet was a dream of
individuals only a few years ago. This service is provided by ISPs. In almost all businesses & industries
around us, computer & computer networks & Internet services are found. But it wasn't like this just
25 years ago. The two main reasons for underdevelopment may be a shortage of educated
individuals and unforeseen acts by our government.

I worked on Network Leistungs Monitoring Systems throughout this internship. I've also been
working on creating the subsurface and server setup. In this report I set FTP, MAIL and WEB servers.
ISP is a protocol and rules infrastructure to provide Internet connections between customers.

The reasons

It can be quite entertaining and make life more comfortable.

The security of an open source operating system has been strengthened.

1.3 Practicum goal

The major purpose of this paper is to comply with the real Linux Server requirements. This study is
intended to assess Daffodil Online Ltd's server critically.

To gain a deep understanding of the network.

Knowledge acquisition is the main purpose of education.


Because I wanted to gain from the experience, I picked an internship.

1.4 Company introduction 1.4

Daffodil Online Ltd. is one of Bangladesh's main providers of internet services. This is Bangladesh's
oldest and most experienced ICT company, where the fundamental business ethics is long-term
client relations.

Layout of the report

Postgraduate internship programme has become a major part of the demand. In practise, the sphere
of theoretical learning is extremely important to change. Its importance meets the criterion for a
degree effectively.

In Chapter 1, I outlined the purpose of internship, internship motivation and internship goals.

The technique of my internship was outlined in Chapter 2. And this chapter provides information
regarding the placement of the internship in this programme. It also includes the way the internships
have been performed, the firm, the IT services available at DOL and the roles on the Linux job
market.

I discussed in Chapter 3 what my training was, what my assignments were and how my internships
were. Here was also what my job was during my internship. I covered it.

I described the results of the internship in Chapter 4. Problems and solutions, learning results and
challenges were listed here.

And Chapter 5 is Conclusion and Future Scope, which I described. I talk about Future Linux scopes
and make a conclusion.

2.1 Prelude:

As a national leader for Internet Services (ISP) in Bangladesh, Daffodil Online Ltd. is proud of its
position. It is the oldest and most experienced ICT company. I wish to discuss the organisation I am
in during my internship session in this chapter. The product and market condition I outline in full.
