Project proposing networking and internet infrastructure solution


In this project you required to propose, design and implement a new it Infrastructure

For a company called LUCI engineering consult. The company is engaged in consulting.
Designing and construction of buildings. Bridges and roads it has 3 building in a
compound that has a maximum distance of 50m between them. Each building has three
floors and 16 users in each in each floor. The company wants to implement centralized
network based infrastructure that include:

1. Centralized messaging system


2. Centralized file management
3. 4 mb internet connection for the whole employees
4. Centralized network computer and other resource management system
Total time for the project: 3:00hrs
Task 1. Planning and organizing project work
Under this task, you should prepare work plan which include (phases of the
project, activities to be performed, duration for each activity, required man
power and responsible body)
Time allotted: 40min
Task2. Identifying network and internet infrastructure resources
Under this task, you should identify and list
 Hardware needed to built the infrastructure
 software needed to built the infrastructure
 type of internet connectivity needed to built the infrastructure
 estimate price of listed hardware, software and internet connectivity
Time allotted: 60min

Task3: preparing logical design of an it infrastructure solution


Under this task, you should prepare a logical design of the infrastructure solution
proposed using Microsoft Visio 2003 that includes:

 the appropriate type cable to be used


 the required appropriate network devices
 internet connectivity

Time allotted 30 min

Task 4: assisting in policy development of client support and maintenance

Under this task, you should propose client support mechanism and maintenance
strategy to minimize the downtime of the network system.

Time allotted: 20 min

Task 5: presenting it project proposal

Under this task, you should present, and demonstrate his overall proposal by preparing
a power point presentation. (The presentation should include: introduction phases and
activities of the project logical diagrams, cost of the project and proposed software and
equipments and human resource for the project)

Time allotted: 20 min
