Explain the use of water from different sources in the context of daily activities.
Introduction:
The water part of the earth is called hydrosphere or water sphere. This
covers three-fourths of its surface. That is why the Earth is called the blue planet.
Water continuously moved in its surface in a process called water cycle.
The water cycle describes how water evaporates from the surface of the earth, rises
into the atmosphere, cools and condenses into rain or snow in clouds, and falls again to
the surface as precipitation. The water falling on land collects in rivers and lakes, soil,
and layers porous of rock, and much of it flows back into the oceans, where it will once
more evaporate. The cycling of water in and out of the atmosphere is a significant
aspect of the weather patterns on Earth.
The water cycle is very important to the living things on Earth, such as, animals, plants,
and humans. The water cycle provides water for humans so they could use it for,
drinking, cooking, washing, cleaning, etc. It also helps animals and plants to live.
Without the water cycle there will be no plants and animals on the Earth, and without
them there could also be no humans. The water cycle is an
extremely important process because it enables the availability of water for all living
organisms and regulates weather patterns on our planet. If water didn't naturally recycle
itself, we would run out of clean water, which is essential to life. The water cycle
consists of three major processes: evaporation, condensation, and precipitation.
Evaporation is the process of a liquid's surface changing to a gas. In the water cycle,
liquid water (in the ocean, lakes, or rivers) evaporates and becomes water
vapor. Condensation is the process of a gas changing to a liquid. In the water cycle,
water vapor in the atmosphere condenses and becomes liquid. Condensation can
happen high in the atmosphere or at ground level. Clouds form as water vapor
condenses or becomes more concentrated (dense). Unlike evaporation and
condensation, precipitation is not a process. Precipitation describes any liquid or solid
water that falls to Earth as a result of condensation in the atmosphere. Precipitation
includes rain, snow, and hail. Fog is not precipitation.
