Structural Engineer Test package

You are provided with 2 sets of architectural plans.

Familiarize with all layouts, sections, and elevation drawings before proceeding.

Task 1

Knowing that roof trusses can achieve spans up 10 m, please mark direction of
trusses and any required load bearing walls to support them on Frist floor plan and
then on ground floor plan if required.

Task 2

Knowing that floor joists can achieve spans up 5.8 m, please mark direction of joists
and walls that can be used to support them. Whenever floor joist span is insufficient
and no wall is present, mark locations of beams and posts to provide support.
In this exercise there is no need to specify member size.

Note
1. Outline of upper floor was already provided on ground floor plan – dashed
line.
2. You have been provided with an example of structural markup we provide
our customers with, specifying light gauge beams and structural steel
beams. For this exercise there is no need to differentiate them.
