1 Upgrade to Innovative Panels:

Reuse existing assets and devices and migrate to new, advanced technologies

Cerberus PRO Compact: Intelligent fire detection for mid to large sized applications
The system offers the latest Siemens innovations including:
• FCL2004 Device Communication Card for MXL-IQ Migration, each FC922 can support 2 modules, which
communicate with legacy MXL field devices.
• Class X Isolation I/O Modules featuring improved performance and reduced power consumption.
• Multi-channel audio system that supports 300 digital messages, exceeding government and
Mass Notification Systems (MNS) specifications.
• The PAD-5, 4-zone, extendable, addressable NAC power supply, which offers expanded flexibility in
designing multi-floor systems, in addition to features like isolator device capability and Siemens
patented boost technology.
• Mechanical migration kits for FS-250, FS-250C, MPC6000, and MXL-IQ. Leave the existing enclosure on
the wall, replace the electronics package, and reconnect the existing circuits and devices.

2 Replacement and Expansion of Phased Out Detectors–Make Sure Your System is Fit for the Future:
Rely on advanced detection, “No False Alarm Guarantee”, and 520 Hz sounder bases–CO detector

• Your FP-11 detectors do not need to be upgraded and will continue to meet codes and standards.
However, there is a migration path for when you are ready for expansion.
• Migration provides options to incorporate new innovative features, such as built-in Isolation,
Low frequency sounders (520 HZ), CO detection and PAD-5 power supply with a host of new
capabilities, just to mention a few. Your system will be ready for a renewed longer life!
• We are continuing to innovate our detection portfolio to meet the latest UL268 7th edition standards
(currently planned for May 2020). Your current detectors do not need to be replaced to meet this
standard. However, there will be new detectors available for your future expansion that meet
these UL268 standards. Please note that the UL268 requirements do not affect Canadian market.

MXL Migration FAQs

Can I migrate MXL and MXL-IQ systems to Cerberus PRO Compact?
Yes. When used with the FCL2004 module, the Cerberus PRO Compact system is fully compatible within the limitations of the system.
My MXL system is working normally today. Is there anything I should be worried about?
With proper proactive migration planning you will be able to budget and plan without reactive, additional costs. Even though the system is
running smoothly today, if any failures occur due to, for example, water damage, lightning strike, and component failure, the repair/replacement
costs will be dramatically higher than if the system is migrated to new technology that is available and maintainable in the future.
How many ALD circuits will the Cerberus PRO Compact panel support?
Each FCL2004 module will support two (2) ALD circuits, and each Cerberus PRO Compact panel will support up to two (2) FCL2004 modules.
What detectors, if any, will be compatible with the MXL?
• After May 29, 2020, no new FP-11 detectors can be manufactured. Any existing or previously manufactured (UL-labeled MXL detectors made
before May 29, 2020) can be used going forward for new, expansion, retrofits, or replacements.
• MXL detectors can be stockpiled at the Customer Site or Sales Outlet and used going forward. All previously made detectors are not required
to be replaced.
• The Cerberus PRO detectors are NOT direct replacements for the FP-11/ MXL detectors. This is the same situation as today, as the new detector
line is not compatible with the FCL2004 module.
• Existing MXL/MXL-IQ detectors can be migrated to the Cerberus PRO Compact panel using the FCL2004 MXL Device Line Card. This module
can coexist with the Cerberus PRO periphery board with its full complement of the latest detectors.
Are any detectors already listed to the new UL268 7th edition?
As of April 13, 2018, no manufacturer has been listed by UL to the new UL268 7th edition standard. The new UL Fire test room was finalized
in February 2018 and is ready for compliance testing. Over the next couple of years manufacturers will be submitting their detectors for
testing in order to gain a UL listing to the new test standard. All UL labeled detectors built, sold or installed prior to May 29, 2020 do not need
to be replaced.
Will support of other MXL devices, such as TRIs, continue to 2023 as previously noted?
Yes.
Is it possible to transfer service between partners or branches?
Through our Siemens Customer Choice program, customers are able to switch service provider, system, or purchase end-user licenses needed
to meet their needs. A system transfer process will take place between the partners and/or branches.
Can a complex MXL system with voice be migrated?
Yes, the FCL2004 module can be used with Cerberus PRO Voice systems. Consult with our Applications Team for guidance on the best approach.
Can a Cerberus PRO Compact system reside on the same network as MXL/MXL-IQ?
No. Cerberus PRO Compact fully supports device migration using the FCL2004 module. The Cerberus PRO Compact panel cannot reside on
the same network.
