Adobe Photoshop CS5

Original Image

 I opened my original image on

Adobe Photoshop CS5. I then
unlocked the background by
copying it, and then deleting the
original copy.
 By using the magnetic tool, I cut
Using Magnetic Lasso Tool out my image. I zoomed into my
picture by pressing “Ctrl +” for
the difficult parts. When my
image was fully cut out I right
clicked and pressed select
inverse. This selected the
background, which I then
deleted.
Selecting my image
 By pressing new, I opened up a
new A4 paper, which I then
dragged my cut out picture onto.
Originally, I found Photoshop
very difficult to use, as it was the
first time I had used it. However,
after doing my preliminary task, I
Applying my image to an a4 paper
had gotten more familiar with it
and found it easier to use.
Making my title  I selected a font which I
thought was suitable for my
RNB and Hip-Hop music
magazine. I used it as a
template to make my actual
title. I took a picture of a gem,
and copy pasted it many
times. I then placed them on
the template, as shown in the
print screen, and made my
title “BEATZ.”
Adobe Audition

My Focus Group  I used Adobe Audition for my

focus group, and my
evaluation question 3. With
this technological software, I
learnt how to take out
unnecessary parts for my
audio file.
 For example, whilst doing my
focus group recordings, there
was allot of background noise
and laughter. By highlighting
How to save as a MP3
the section that I didn’t want
and by deleting it, I had got
rid of that section.
 This print screen shows that I
edited my focus group
recording on “Adobe
Audition,” I listed to the
recording first and then
highlighted the part that I
didn’t want. By pressing ‘play’
I listened to the highlighted
part and if that part was not
needed I right clicked on the
mouse and deleted it. This
procedure was done
throughout my editing.
 I found Adobe Audition fairly
simple to use, even though it
was the first time that I was
using it.
Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007

Evaluation: Question 1

 I used Microsoft Office

PowerPoint 2007, for many
different things.
 For example, for my evaluation
question number 1. I answered
this question using bullet points.
Use of images also helped me
Model Mise-en-scene Ideas answer the question in detail as it
showed evidence on what I was
trying demonstrate. The images
were easy to apply using copy
and paste, however, putting them
in the right position and making
them all visible was a little tricky
but I managed it.
 I also used this software for my
Questionnaire Analyses
Mise-en-scene ideas. Again,
placing the pictures and resizing
them was difficult, but I managed
to overcome it and present my
work appropriately.
 For my research and planning, I
had created a questionnaire. I

analysed my results using Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007 with the help of
graphs. I found this most difficult as it was the first time I was applying graphs
to my PowerPoint.

 Overall, I use PowerPoint regularly and so it wasn’t problematic to use.

Microsoft Office Word 2007

 During my coursework, I also used

Double page spread article
Microsoft Office Word 2007 many
times.
 For example, when making my
double page spread article, I used
this software. This is because it was
easier for me to print out for
marking and to add extra additional
information. I could also put my
Making of my questionnaire
text into columns, which is
conventional for RNB and Hip-Hop
articles. I was also able to
distinguish between the question
and answer by changing the colour.
 I also used this technological
software for my questionnaire. I
was able to present the
Research & planning analyses questionnaire like a usual
questionnaire with the use of
symbols, font sizes, colours and
even space for answering the open
questions. It was also easier to
print out and give out to my

market research audience. Gathering the data was also straight forward as most
questions were closed questions.
 Microsoft Office Word 2007 was also used for my planning and research for when I
was analysing proffesional magazines contents page, front cover and double page
spreads.
 On the whole, I found this software easy to use as I use it on a daily basis and I am
very familiar with it. I had no difficulties it and it was the easiest out of them all.
 To upload my Microsoft
Official PowerPoint 2007’s,
Microsoft Official Word
2007’s, Audio Auditions and
Scribd Photoshop images I used
these 4 software.
divShare  When going onto these
websites I had to sign up to
slideSharethem to be able to use the
software.
 I then uploaded what I wanted
Slide to put on my blog by browsing
my document.
 With every document
slideboom uploaded, came an embedded
code. this made it easy for me
Divshares website to upload it onto my blog as
all I had to do was copy paste
it onto my blog.

Slideshare website
Slide website
 I then opened a new post on
my blog and clicked on “Edit
HTML,” this allowed my
document to be posted using
the software that I wanted.
 Each process for every
different technological
Scribd website
software was very similar. The
first one I created was rather
complicated as I had never
used a website like this;
however, as I went on through
my coursework I found it
easier as the process for each
My blog
software was similar.

Overall, I learnt a lot about technologies from the process of constructing

my RNB and Hip-Hop magazine. At first, i found all of the software that I
used very difficult to use, especially Adobe Photoshop CS5. Although now, I
have gotten used to it and I am able to use it with high standards. Some of
these software that I have used to create my coursework were very new to
me and I hadn’t used them before. However, I now know how to use them
and I know what they are used for. This is the first time that I have created
my own blog and I think that I have learnt a lot from it. For example, how to
plan and organise my work and how to use different types of technologies.
