Enable BC in Display

This document provides instructions for enabling the board computer feature on vehicle displays using OpCom software. It describes selecting the appropriate options in the software menus to program the display module depending on whether the vehicle has a GID, CID, or other display. Once programmed, the board computer folder or options should appear on the right side of the display when the ignition is turned back on.

Enable BC in Display

To Enable Board Computer for BID, GID and CID

(Not possible with TID displays – half height screen with clock buttons on the
bezel).

This is mainly for full CAN vehicles such as Astra-H / Zafira-B and Vectra-C /
Signum, however other vehicles should be similar.

All Programming should be done with the Ignition ON, but the engine NOT
running.

Run your OpCom program, and plug in the interface.

DIAGNOSTIC=>
MODEL YEAR=>
VEHICLE MODEL=>
INFOTAINMENT=>
DISPLAY=> (DIS)

Dependent upon model year, later models will give the options of
DISPLAY on MS CAN
DISPLAY on SW CAN etc. -*** I use this one ***

PROGRAMMING=>

For GID / CID only


VARIANCE CONFIGURATION=>
scroll through the option pages until you find "Board Computer"
Click to present to enable the folder to appear on the display

PROGRAM=>
BACK=> and repeat to back out of the software.

Turn off the ignition for at least 30 seconds to allow the module to accept the
programming.

When you turn your ignition back on, you should see an extra folder on the far
right of the display, with a picture of a car on it - this is your Board Computer
folder.

For All displays except TID (as TID's are not able to have BC Function)

DIAGNOSTIC=>

VEHICLE MODEL=>
INFOTAINMENT=>
DISPLAY=> (DIS)
Dependent upon model year, later models will give the options of

PROGRAM CODE INDEX=>
Then select the code index value to suit your specific vehicle set up.
See the separate page with code index table listings.
PROGRAM=>
BACK=> and repeat to back out of the software.

Turn off the ignition for at least 30 seconds to allow the module to accept the
programming.

Now check your programming has worked, by pressing the BC button.

If you have GID or CID you should now have 3 options


BC 1
BC 2
Stop-watch
Also when you turn the head unit off, the range and instantaneous
consumption should show on the display instead of the time, temperature and
date.
