DCS Summit Smith Invisible

The document discusses "Invisible Funnels", a marketing technique taught by Daegan Smith that focuses on giving away valuable free content upfront to attract customers. It works by offering a free event or training, then only charging the customer's credit card later if they liked what they received, allowing them to opt-out easily if not. This allows businesses to acquire customers by first delivering value without pressure before asking for payment.

Invisible Funnels

taught by Daegan Smith

Daegan is widely regarded as the expert’s expert. The guy to go to when you don’t
know what to do. When everyone asks what is working, he asks why. His students
consider him to be THE coach due to his ability to make the complicated simple
and usable for almost anyone. He’s most proud of his innovations like the micro-
commitment lead capture page, the pre-transactional timed one-time offer, story
selling, email story selling, the restaurant proposition frame, and the Invisible Funnel.

Invisible Funnels work by giving away a lot of value for free upfront, and only charging if the
customer liked what they received. The event or training is free to attend, and if the customer
likes the training, they are told “do nothing, and your credit card will be billed in X days. If you
didn’t like the training, just let me know, and we won’t bill you at all.” (It’s like going to the movie
theatre and watching an entire movie all the way through, and then deciding if you think it was
worth the cost of the movie ticket.)
