Data Science For Agriculture

Data science techniques can manage large volumes of data from different sources to build an intelligent system that can analyze information and provide results. It allows for high-powered analytics of large, diverse data to provide insights and improve decision making. Applying these techniques to agriculture allows farmers to tap into data from sources like social media and sensors to make customized, dynamic decisions. Relationships exist between how data is used, misused, manipulated, and archived, and different reasoning approaches are applied between data mining, warehousing, computing, and engineering. A variety of file formats are used for raw, analyzed, and visualized agricultural data.

DATA SCIENCE FOR AGRICULTURE

Dr. Krishnan Umachandran

A technology with techniques that could manage large volumes of data from
disparate sources and takes care of constructing a system with built-in
intelligence; a system that can think, find and co-relate various pieces of
information and throw out the result.

It is a high powered analytics of overall data management with Volume,

velocity and variety of information assets that demand cost-effective,
innovative forms of processing for enhanced insights and decision making. It
is a value capture from data with large economies of scale.

The Big Data creates for the user the following options
1. USE
2. misUSE
3. Manipulate
4. Hush / Archive / Remnant

With the rise of social media, mobility, RFID, GPS etc., agriculture can now tap into data
they never knew that earlier existed. Organizations will evolve to become a continuous
laboratory learning to take customized dynamic decisions. With intelligence of no
perceived boundaries in basic statistics of summarize, visualize and analyze with
descriptive and predictive modeling along the competition and productivity of the data
stream supported by cloud will create mature technology and integrate solutions.

RELATIONSHIP between OPTIONS

1. Data Warehousing provides optional USE - misUSE
2. Data Computing is a concern between misUSE - Manipulation
3. Data Engineering is to clear off in between Manipulate - Hush
4. Data Mining is the process to cull data from Hush state to Use state

APPLIED MODES of REASONING

1. Logical - between Data Mining and Data warehousing
2. Pattern - between Data Warehousing and Data Computing
3. Opportunity - between Data Computing and Data Engineering
4. Hack - between Data Engineering and Data Mining
