I. Title: Webinar on Research in the New Normal
II. Proponent: OLIVER C. GAMBOA, Teacher III
III. Implementer: Ramos National High School
IV. Target Clientele:

The target participants of this training are the school head, school research
coordinator, and teachers of Ramos National High School both Junior High School and
Senior High School.

V. Rationale

Research assists teachers and non-teaching personnel in making contextually

meaningful and informed decisions that lead to more holistic and efficient approaches to
student learning, psychosocial growth, capacity building, and professional development in
schools and districts, allowing initiatives to better address the needs of learners, the school
and the community.

Republic Act 10533 also known as “Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013”, section
10.2 (h), it states that “The curriculum shall be flexible enough to enable and allow schools to
localize, indigenize, and enhance the curriculum based on their respective educational and
social contexts”. It is in this sense that action and applied researches are considered vital in
improving one’s educational practice. Action research provides teachers the facility to
become architects of their own practice and to such process as they continuously reinvent
themselves and embody all that they wish to inspire.

Teachers and other educational professionals have the authority to make decisions.
Action Research is in fact an ever-evolving process of commitment, collaboration, concern,
consideration and change. Action research begins with hopes, dreams and desire. It starts
with hopes that you can create a change in your classroom for the better, dreams of a better
instructional situation and desire to make a difference.

We are now living in an era where there is a changing view on education, the way we
handle learning, the way we view learners, and the way see the role of the teacher. Specially
at present, due to the pandemic crisis brought by COVID-19, we need to acclimate and make
a response to be able to navigate to a better and improving condition of our system of
education at present. There is no best time to consider in conducting research, thus, a problem
can occur constantly and challenges will be met at any time, and so we are challenge to solve
them, reflect on our processes and test interventions to improve our own crafts.

VI. Training Description and Components

The project training is entitled Webinar on Research in the New Normal aims to orient
and guide teachers in conceptualizing an action research that is suited for the new normal set-
up of education. The proponent believes that conducting this webinar will be of great help to
teachers in enhancing their knowledge on research and contribute to the improvement of the
teaching-learning process outside the classroom set-up.
This webinar on research in the new normal will be implemented through Google Meet,
an online platform which provides chat, voice and presentation and videoconferencing features
