[MERS12 Therm Engineering Lauranary ‘Mechan a Enlncrng 2020-2021 EXP,NO: 24 DATE: “\\tl2020 PERFORMANCE | ST ON A RECIPROCATING AIR COMPRESSOR AIM: To conduet performance test on a two stage reciprocating air compressor and to draw the characteristic curves of a two stage reciprocating air compressor. APPARATUS REQUIRED: ‘Two stage rveiprocating air compressor DESCRIPTION: Two stage reciprocating air compressor consists of LP eylinder, HP cylinder, induction motor and Reemvoir, The ait is sucked from the atmosphere and compressed in the first stage LP eylinder, The compressed air then passes through an intercooler where air is getting cooled. Air from the intercooler is entering into the second stage HP cylinder, where the air is further to a reservoir through a safely valve. TI the gauge pressure e find the flow rate of air. type tube water manometer is provided to the gauge pressure inside the reservoir. An SPECIFICATIONS: 1. Bore of LP cylinder De 100 mm, 2.
