1928 was a remarkable year for Volleyball sport as the United States Volleyball association was
formed. Along with its formation, also raised and became clear that tournament rules were
needed. In 1934, national volleyball referees were approved and recognized. First referees have
the power to overrule any of the other officials. Later on 1947, the Federation Internationale De
Volley-ball was established, and founded in France. In the year 1949 the first FIVB world
championship was held in Prague. The Men's game on this tournament was played in a modified
tennis court. These humble beginnings ignited the great competitions and traditions that would
soon follow.
It was in the year 1964 that volleyball was introduced to the Olympic Games in Tokyo. A year
later, the California Beach-Volleyball Association (CBVA) was formed . It was the first governing
body for beach volleyball. It was in 1967 that the first beach volleyball tournament was played in
the Olympic World Championship, which took place in Will Rogers State Beach in summer 1976.
The Association of Volleyball Professionals was formed in 1983 as players' union, and began
organizing its own men's tour following the dispute with a private promoter during the 1984
World Championship in California. World League was created in 1990 with the goal of bringing
the world's top Men's teams together to create a worldwide circuit to bring the best of volleyball
to every nation.
Later in 2002, the beach volleyball court dimensions were reduced to 16x8 m and there is no
longer an attack line.
Throughout the years up to today, research has shown that volleyball is also one of the Top 3 most
popular shorts that women play particularly in Highschool. Much has changed with the sport
throughout the years, but every change has brought about what the sport is today.

HOWTOSCOREAPOINT?
To score a point, a player must direct the ball over the net into the opponent's
court. The player must remember that the dimensions of the entire court is 18
m wide and 9m wide, and he/she must aim on the 9mx9m side of the opponent.
The player must also remember that he/she must make sure that the ball passes
through the net, which is 8 ft high for men, or 7ft 4in for women. If the ball
lands inside the line, it is counted as a score. Each team must not touch the ball
for more than three times.
KINDSOFTOUCH:
A team is only allowed to touch the ball three times. The first touch is known as
pass/bump. This is commonly used to control the ball coming from the attack of
the opponent. The second touch is called the set. This, on the other hand, is
used so that the ball is set up for the attacking player to make the final shot. The
final touch is called the attack/spike. It is an attack aimed over the net towards
the opponent.
