Determine the level of strategy exemplified in the following statements.  Justify your answer.
1. Starbucks Corporation plans to open a new branch in Lipa City.
Corporate Level of Strategy. This kind of strategy is the result of the decision of
leaders at the corporate level as it is generally concerned of investing activity. Opening a new
branch is a corporate level strategy since it is a general strategic objective for the new business
unit, that is, the new branch to be opened, to grow.
2. McDonald's Corporation enters into an agreement with Disney to license the former to use
Disney characters as free items for the Happy Meal.
Functional Level of Strategy. It is at the functional level as it can be directly associated
to marketing strategy which is to attract more consumers by offering Disney characters as free
items in Happy Meals especially because a large volume of the Market loves Disney, thus, it is a
strategy formulated at the functional or operational level.
3.  ABS-CBN Corporation launches its online channel.
Business Level of Strategy. This one is at the business level because it is concerned
of a specific business unit of ABS-CBN Corporation. At the corporate level, this strategy could
be seen as an additional diversification to expand the modes of deliverance the TV network can
offer to cater the market it serves and increase the number of consumers it serves. Hence, at a
business level it became the launching of its online channel.
