9. False
10. True

What is New

1. People sometimes tend to spread falsehoods, whether it be intentionally or not.

2. It either empowers them to speak up for themselves and others, or get them too overconfident
and do stupid things under the protection of anonymity.
3. A responsible media user reconsiders every factor and possibilities before saying or doing
anything on social media.

What is More

1. Internet and technology keep us informed with the current events, help us connect with others
regardless of distance, and are a repository of information that we could glean on if needed.
2. It makes us complacent and degrade our competence as we become too reliant on technology.
3. It will either be respected, followed, not known, not cared about, or belittled upon, depending
on who is concerned.

What I Have Learned

1. Digital citizenship is an essential concept for every online user because there has to be rules to
be followed, otherwise surfing the Internet is going to be an unpleasant experience.
2. We need to bear in mind the netiquette rules every time we are in contact with the digital world
because just like in real life, we have to mind how others feel.
3. The best ways to be a responsible online user are to be respectful to others and think critically
first before taking any actions in the Internet.

What I Can Do

1. Be respectful of others’ opinions.

2. No ad hominem in arguments.
3. If it’s shady, don’t enter that site.
4. If someone annoys you, ignore them.
5. Honesty is best reserved to those you trust.
- Following these makes sure you don’t get into too much trouble. Arguments won’t escalate to
flame wars, you’ll be less prone to cybercrime, and most of all, you’ll be seen as cordial by
others.
Assessment

- One of the biggest digital issues here in the Philippines are the lack of integrity when it comes to
spreading news. Fake news, false rumours, cyber propaganda and hoaxes had become far too
rampant because many uneducated individuals with internet access will believe anything they
see or hear on social media. And considering that the Philippines had the world’s most amount
of active people on the Internet, these falsehoods were spread far too easily, and with too few
fact-checkers to verify the information. What should be done to somewhat curb it is to make
sure the people are taught information literacy as early as while they’re still in elementary
school. Fact-checking should also be promoted, so as to make sure the truth can be found within
all those lies.
1. The message is trying to convey that we must consider certain factors before making an action
in social media platforms.
2. I agree, because even under the protection of anonymity, we must remain considerate of the
consequences of our actions within the Internet.
3. It enforced well enough, it can help prevent citizens from turning into victims of bad
consequences committed by careless or apathetic users.
