Narrative Report
The first day of the training started with an opening program welcoming the teachers of
Carreta Night High School, the rationale of the training for the Mid-year In-Service Training
was headed by Mrs. Maria Analyn Manansala, the teacher III of Carreta Night School. After
which, Mrs. Ida Grace Entrampas, discussed the Health Protocol that emphasizes various
health practices should a school does or routines before fully operating for module distribution
as a medium of instruction. She also reiterates the protocols to be practiced by teachers as
coordinated by Inter-Agency Task Force for Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) and
Department of Education. Contingency Planning was mentioned and elaborated as to how a
school should operate knowing the different hazard or danger that may involve learners,
parents, teachers, and stakeholders. In the Afternoon session, Mrs. Armi S. Carriaga did the
Kamustahan (Positive Discipline for Everyday Teaching) and give explanation on the PDET
model (Positive Discipline in Everyday Teaching) and how applicable would it be for teaching
students especially in the time of pandemic. She extracted that students must be the center of
the teaching process to achieve teaching learning goal of the department.
On the second day, the guest speaker, honorable Dr. Antonio Conahap, discussed the
Online Child Sexual Exploitation thus resulting and highlighting the rights of the Child and the
scope of Online Sexual Exploitation, Making the teachers be informed on how these kinds of
crimes are involving the students, causes and its effects towards the teaching process. He
also reiterated the Rights and Protection Policy where he emphasized and formed the Child
protection teams that will focused on assessing and investigating potential cases of child
abuse and neglect and intervening when appropriate and Cybercrime: Protecting children
online abuse and exploitation. In the afternoon, the topic Study of MELCs per retrieved
Modules in Quarter 1 For tool subjects and Makabayan subjects was facilitated by Mrs.
Analyn Manansala and Mrs. Armi Carriaga, the Teacher III of Carreta Night High School. And
Presentation of Result of MELCs or Most Essential Learning Competencies per retrieved
Modules in Quarter 1 For Tool subject and Makabayan subject teachers.
The third day, Mr. Fernando S. Limotan, school head of Carreta Night High School
discussed on how to improve the MELCs in the Modules for Quarter 2, he also reminded the
teachers to look for minor and major dilemmas that were found during the run through of the
First Quarter for this school year 2020-2021. The teachers, then make a conference by Grade
level as to what problems have been encountered by the adviser per grade level and resulted
to many problems to name a few: a. late acquisition of modules of the parents, b. Parents’
Inability to monitor their children’s progress in answering or doing their modules and c. The
students’ response to modular method as they do not easily understand the lesson imprinted
in the modules, thus asking the guidance or presence of the subject teacher. In the afternoon,
brainstorming of solutions as suggested by teachers concerned explained to the school head
as to root problems encountered by grade level for both students and teachers.
On the fourth day of the training, Presentation of Individual Action Plan per teacher,
Unpacking MELCs, Least of Mastered and least mastered competencies in the modules
based on the first Quarter of MELCs. And in the afternoon, Mr. Fernando Limotan, gave the
discussion of Assessment Policy (interim) and Discussion on Academic Ease during COVID
19. Department of Education’s Brigada Eskwela-Learning Continuity Plan (BE-LCP) was the
additional topic that needs to be highlighted. This plan aims to project a better school planning
on the following: a. number of students who preferred Modular, Online and Distance as a
method of learning in delivering the lesson without risking the health of the learners; b.
Learning Competencies that need to be packed and unpacked or merged by the teacher to
scrutinize the most essential learning competencies to be acquired by students; and c. the
budget through MOOE to be used for the expenses of the materials and trainings necessary
for the mode of learning by the school which is modular.. And in the afternoon Presentation of
Assessment Policy by subject area and their BE-LCP of the grade level.
On the 5th day, Presentation of Assessment Policy by subject Area. And in the
afternoon Presentation of Contextualized Learning Continuity Plan (LCP) & Assessment of
LCP Implementation the Contextualized LCP for tool subject and Makabayan Subject.by Mrs.
Analyn Manansala And Mrs. Armi Carriaga. The BE-LCP was further explained the initial
output made by Mr. Alex Misa, a special teacher, and Mrs. Ida Grace Entrampas, a grade 10-
adviser, gave their additional information as how important it is before the school year starts.
The house was divided into two namely Makabayan and Subject Tool teachers. Makabayan
teachers led by Mrs. Armi Carriaga, had their conference on how to implement the plan and
the tool subject teachers headed by Mrs. Analyn Manansala, analyzed if it is possible to make
some revisions and find lapses of the plan so that they can make a further solution to the
issues.
