Parts of Exercise Program

This document outlines the key parts of an exercise program including warm-up, cool-down, and four basic exercises. A warm-up prepares the body for exertion through gentle exercise to increase flexibility, blood flow, and range of motion while lowering injury risk. A cool-down allows the body to gradually return to a resting state through slower activity and helps normalize heart rate and breathing. The four basic exercises described are squats, lunges, trunk rotations, and push-ups which work major muscle groups.

◦ Increased blood flow and oxygen.
◦ Improved performance.
◦ Better range of motion.
◦ Less muscle tension and pain.
Cool-down
◦ is an easy exercise, done after a more intense activity,
to allow the body to gradually transition to a resting or
near-resting state. Depending on the intensity of the
exercise, cooling down can involve a slow jog or walk.
Benefits of Cooling-down
◦ Allows Heart Rate to normalize.
◦ Slows Breathing.
