 You will find activities for four weeks. There are six activities per week
divided in three days.

 Find a comfortable place to sit and work.

 At the end of the booklet, you will find a sheet called “My Daily
Reading Minutes”. Find a book in English (physical or digital) that is
interesting for you to read. Read for 10-20 minutes three times a
week.

READING

1. Read the following story and answer the questions

The Rooster and the Fox


A rooster sat perched way up in a tree, crowing loudly. A fox heard him and came
running to see if he could get a chicken dinner. On the way he thought up a plan to get
the rooster to come down. “Hello, brother Rooster,” he said in his nicest voice. “Have
you heard of the universal peace agreement that has happened between all the
animals? We will none of us ever eat each other again but live in peace. Why don’t you
come down and we can talk about this great news?”
The rooster knew what kind of animal the fox was. He knew the fox was trying to trick
him. So he decided to trick him back. He looked very closely at something far in the
distance. “What are you looking at up there?” asked the fox. “I think I see a pack of dogs
coming this way on a fox hunt.”
“Well, if that is the case, I better be off,” said the fox.
”But why would you be afraid of dogs in a time of peace like this?” asked the clever
rooster.
“I am not sure they have heard about the new agreement of peace,” he said and took
off.

SCIENCE
Follow the instructions to make your very own home-made PLAY DOUGH!
The materials you will need are:

1. 3 cups of flour
2. 1 ½ cups of salt
3. 6 tablespoons cream of tartar
4. 3 tablespoon of oil
5. 3 cups of water

NOTE: Remember you must have a responsible adult assistant to help you.
Instructions:
1. Dissolve salt in the water.
2. Pour all ingredients into a large pot.
3. Stir constantly over medium heat until a ball forms by pulling away from the
sides.
4. Knead the dough mixture until the texture matches playdough (1-2 minutes).
5. Store in plastic container. Should last for at least 3 months.

* You can add food coloring to make your play dough colorful.

SCIENCE

NATURAL DISASTERS: VOLCANIC ERUPTION

Materials:
 small disposable paper cup
 playdough
 baking soda
 vinegar
 food coloring of your choice

Procedure:
1. Cut the small disposable paper cup in half, about 2 inches from the
bottom.
2. Use play dough to make a base for the volcano then, place the bottom
part of the cup on top of the playdough blob.
3. Use more playdough to build up around the base and make it look more
like a volcano.
4. Once the volcano is ready, take it outside. Pour a little baking soda into
the top of the volcano.
5. Pour vinegar in a cup.
6. Add a drop or two of food coloring.
7. Pour the colored vinegar into the top of the volcano and watch what
happens!
