Cannot Create Sip Trunk Group

The document provides troubleshooting information for an issue preventing the creation of SIP trunk groups due to a lack of available fictitious trunk IDs. It explains that the Actis software does not properly calculate the number of fictitious trunks required for SIP trunk groups. The solution is to declare a sufficient number of trunks using the cfgUpdate command before rebooting, with 124 fictitious trunks required for each SIP trunk group. An example is given of checking trunk numbers in the database and increasing the declared trunks accordingly.

NOT URGENT TEMPORARY PERMANENT

SUBJECT: CANNOT CREATE SIP TRUNK GROUP DUE TO "NO FICTIF TRUNK ID FREE"

1. PROBLEM
The creation of SIP trunk group cannot be carried out with mgr or OmniVista 4760: the system replies
No fictif trunk Id free.

2. CAUSE
Actis does not calculate properly the number of fictive trunks required for this type of trunk group.
Reminder
Are required:
• 124 fictive trunks for a SIP trunk group
• 8 for a mini SIP trunk group
• 32 for an access of trunk group or T2 or IP logical link
• 64 for hybrid logical link access of D channel or compressed signaling type.

3. SOLUTION
Prefer the creation of mini SIP trunk groups for a low traffic.
Add trunks using cfgUpdate and reboot (to be carried out on 2 CPUs).
Procedure
− Check that the number of created trunks is sufficient to start the system.
Example
(1)xa040008> cdmao
/DHS3data/mao
(1)xa040008> cfgUpdate

5 Trunks : 126

In this example, 126 trunks are created.

− Check the database.
Example
(1)xa040008> cdmao
/DHS3data/mao
(1)xa040008> checkinitrem TRACE | grep trunks
Number of trunks : 126 (value set in cfgUpdate)
Real trunks : 154 (value calculated and required for starting)
(1)xa040008>
The system needed 154 trunks to start.
Therefore you should declare 278 trunks (154+124) to create the SIP trunk group.

− Change the number of trunks.

/DHS3data/mao
(1)xa040008> cfgUpdate

5 Trunks : 278

− Reboot.
− Save the OPS files and supply them to you Actis correspondent before the next adding.
This issue will be fixed in a next version of Actis.
