Transport has always played a very important
role in India. And as our economy grows, we will
see the sector develop, solving for issues relating
to congesting, the environment and exorbitant
infrastructure costs. Every aspect of transport will
change, and this requires a very specialized kind of
institute. NRTI will expose and train it students to the

latest developments and research in the sector, and
prepare them for a rewarding career.

THE CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE FOR NEXT GENERATION
TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS
NRTI, in collaboration with the University
of Birmingham, UK, launched its first Centre
of Excellence in December 2019. The Centre
is a focal point for developing new expertise
through research, driving technological
innovations and disseminating knowledge
by offering education programmes, hosting
conferences and events and other such
activities in areas related to the rail sector. It
will also aim to forge partnerships between
academia, industry and government to
create knowledge products, impart learning
through education and training and help
build national capacity in the Rail and
Transportation sector.

“ Signing this MoU further strengthens our links

with the National Rail and Transport Institute of
India. Through this partnership we are pleased to
able to contribute to the development of railway

education and research and we look forward to
working together more closely.
