This document provides calculations for the design of reinforced concrete tied columns. It includes formulas and constants used, geometric properties of four columns (B'-2, B'-4, C-2, C-4), and the calculations for longitudinal reinforcement (Ast) and confining reinforcement (stirrups) for each column. Negative Ast values were obtained for columns A-1, A-2, and A-3, so the minimum of 4 bars with 16mm diameter was used per code requirements for tied columns. All other columns were designed with calculated Ast and satisfied code checks for Ast ratios and stirrup spacing.
