WHAT IS WORK IMMERSION?

Work immersion trains student and strengthen their skills for their

work in the future. These programs strengthened by the insurance of the

DepEd Order No.40 this program aims to help develop life career and skills
and prepare learners decide regarding post-secondary education or

employment.

According to the Department of Education, this program is an 80

hours hands-on encounter which Senior High Student must experience to

open them to the genuine working environment setting and improved their

abilities learned in school. My 80 hours experience inside the shop is very

memorable it is because I got a lot of learning and experience on how to

conduct inside the shop. I do my immersion Monday to Friday and during my

immersion day our supervisor guide us to do our duty extraordinarily well. Our

teacher teaches me first to check the area to make sure that the area is safety

and there's no hazardous substances inside the shop and when the area are

finished to check then you are ready to start your work. In my 80 hours

experience I performed to make a plot. And also, we harvest the fruits and

crops with handled with extra care or shall we say Tender Loving Care. By

The help of work immersion, I know how to drive the hand tractor and to

manage it on my own.

ESSAY ON HOW TO CONDUCT ONESELF INSIDE THE COMPANY

How to conduct oneself is very important during work shop day. You

have to know what to do inside or outside the shop. There's have a lot of

things that I have to learn that will surely be useful not just for this coming

immersion but also to the next jobs that having in the near future. Work

immersion can be a little bit stressful for job seekers.

In conducting a work immersion, you should always remember to be

punctual because time is running and every company really believes in the

saying time is gold.

Then always follow the rules. It is the most important thing you will

always remember as an applicant because a good applicant really follows the

rules.

And always be aware of self-discipline, because company managers

never look at the applicant’s talent and skill in fact, they look at how an

applicant acts inside the company.

MY PERSONAL GOALS IN WORK IMMERSION

My Personal Goal as a trainee is to have a better future someday, I am

going to build and gain knowledge because I want my personal

goal to be attained. Participate in any act of service as my way to be near at

my aimed goal in this training. Getting my personal goal is not easy to do

because I have a lot of stepping stones to meet in this goal. Also, its hard but I

have to do this for myself and for my family because they assume that I can

get this goal and sooner I’ll be the one to help them. I try my very best to have

a right attitude inside or outside the shop because it is crucial to the kind of

image created about one self and this for facts holds more importance of

one’s work place. Adopting the right attitude is a step towards personal

excellence which in return, it can help us to add value to everything we do.

During my work immersion day, it is a big challenge for me because I must

consider all the policies and procedure in a particular area. It is also a

challenge for me to meet their expectation as an IFT Student. I must bring all

ideas and skills I had. On my Job Training (OJT), I will push myself to work

better and because of that I learned to put dedication to my work.

As a BOSCONIAN, it is a privileged for me to be part of this immersion.

With the help of this project, it brings me to improve my skills, knowledge and

attitude and also to collaborates to the people surround me. Even if it is not

easy to achieve my goals but I need to survive hardships in order to achieve

success. I never forget this immersion because I have a lot of struggles and

difficulties that I’ve encountered before I received my awards in life because I

believed that before you received the success you will face first the trials and

challenges in life. I try my very best to do my duties extraordinarily well for this

good attitude that will determine as a real BOSCONIANS. Even though I can
encounter hardships I will still firm in order to reach fulfillment in the future. I

will always focus on my goal by completing my bridge towards my aimed

SUCCESS.

As a Grade 12 Students, I will do this job to make my family be proud

of me. That’s why I keep improving my skills about this training so that I can

keep being focus to be shifted to my self-improvement and to become the

best version of myself.

I positively want to learn on how to conduct oneself inside or outside the shop

so that I have my personal experience that intangible and gained more

knowledge. With the help of hands-on activities during work immersion, I have

learned the actual life that different than imagining it. In every time I’ve taken

my work immersion, I am also taken the goal I want to get especially gained

something crucial and valuable in my chosen profession for it chances and my

personal form of conduct and at the same time my own personal identity.

REFLECTION PAPER
During my two weeks work

immersion, I was fortunate enough

to experience and learn different

how to become true agricultural

student.

During the 2 weeks of staying

inside DBTC, I experience many

things that I thought I will never

experience anymore. I learn so many things about how agriculture operates

and my skills enhance a little bit. My most unforgettable experience as an

immersionist is the time when my group and I was assigned at the cows and

carabao where we pasture them into the grasslands.

Throughout the whole week, all I experience was positivity and

happiness for all of the knowledge I learn and for the enjoyment I felt. It was

really such a great adventure and it was a real great experience for me.

Hope that I can use my knowledge and skills that I’ve learn from the 2

weeks work immersion.

WRITTEN REPORTS AND ACTIVITIES PERFORMED

During my 2 weeks work immersion my day always starts at waking up

early and prepare myself for the upcoming day.

We designate into small groups consist of 3-4 members and assigned

into different tasks and activities to be performed. Our first task was to mix

and produce organic fertilizer or what we also called soil media. Then we

rotate and our second task was to clean and collect manure from the poultry

house. Then we also cultivate and make plot for the corns and plant lettuce at

the greenhouse section.

In the remaining days we focus on the crop production a lot because

we plant the seedlings for sweet corns and cucumbers. We also give vitamins

to the goats and deworm the pigs.

In the last two days we clean the garden beside the gym area and the

back portion of the stage where we do 5’s, cut the long grass and collect all

plastic garbage.

COMPANY PROFILE
The training center was operationalized in 1995 offering training

courses in mechanical and automotive technologies. The center is effective in

its program because it is able to qualify the graduates to address the skills

requirements of the small industries in Mati and the big ones in Davao.

However, the distance of Mati from Davao is a critical factor in the job

placement of the trainees. With this, Don Bosco addressed then situation by

providing training programs that are not only relevant to local needs but can

likewise generate gainful local employment. Hence, in 2003, the center

opened the Agri-Mechanical and Integrated Farming Technology.

KINDS OF BUSINESS
Don Bosco Training Center Mati is an institution accredited by TESDA

that offers Technical and Vocational Education and Training Programs (TVET)

under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)

and the Department of Education (DEPED). They also offer senior high

curriculum for upcoming grade 11 and 12 with Technical Vocational course to

choose.

Don Bosco offers the following specialization: For TVET students who

use to finish senior high school, Don Bosco offers: Machining Technology NC

2, Automotive Servicing NC 2, Shield Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC 2, and

Motorcycle Small Engine Servicing NC 2.

For Senior High School Students, Don Bosco offers: Automotive

Servicing NC 2, Motorcycle Small Engine Servicing NC 2, Civil Technology

NC 2, and Integrated Farming Technology NC 2.
