RESOLUTION NO. 205 - 2021
RESOLUTION INVITING JAPANESE INVESTORS THROUGH THE ASSISTANCE OF
H.E. KOSHIKAWA KAZUHIKO, AMBASSADOR OF JAPAN TO THE PHILIPPINES, TO
INVEST IN THE PROPOSED AGRO-ECONOMIC ZONE IN CAVINTI, LAGUNA
WHEREAS, the proposed Cavinti Economic Zone (CEZ) are composed of 4,750.06
hectares in the Unclassified Public Forest Area within the Barangays of Lumot/Mahipon,
Paowin, Cansuso, Bukal and Sumucab, and around 40 hectares in the Agricultural land
of Brgy. Sumucab near Twin Falls wherein technical description herein attached;
WHEREAS, the Municipality of Cavinti has the biggest land area in the Province of
Laguna with agricultural as the major land use, with a total land area of 8,560.33 hectares,
or 39.55% of the total area and forest areas with 5,788.59 hectares (25.75%) wherein
enough portion may be developed through private initiative and/or LGU initiative with the
assistance of the National Government in accordance with RA 7916 to be utilized as
“Ecozone”;
WHEREAS, RA 7196 also known as “ The Special Economic Zone Act of 1995”
provides for the purpose among others (b) to transform selected areas in the country into
highly developed agro industrial, industrial, commercial, tourist, banking, investment, and
financial centers, where highly trained workers and efficient services will be available to
commercial enterprises;

WHEREAS, the establishment of Economic Zone or “Ecozone” is a good concept
as the government's investments mechanism for mutinational, foreign and domestic
investor to relocate and establish business presence in the municipality which will create
huge opportunity for jobs and revenue generation;
NOW THEREFORE, in view of the foregoing , on motion of SB Member Pedro
O. Villegas Jr., duly seconded and unanimously approved by all other members herein
present, it was
RESOLVED as it HEREBY RESOLVED TO INVITE JAPANESE INVESTORS
THROUGH THE ASSISTANCE OF H.E. KOSHIKAWA KAZUHIKO, AMBASSADOR OF
JAPAN TO THE PHILIPPINES, TO INVEST IN THE PROPOSED AGRO-ECONOMIC
ZONE IN CAVINTI, LAGUNA
APPROVED.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the above-quoted resolution is an excerpt from the
