I believe there is probable cause to charge the defendant with these charges because:
On June 14, 2021, Unified Police received a call about a fight in progress at 3600 S. 8000 W. in Magna.
Information was six people were beating up a male (F.O.).
When officers and medical arrived on scene, the male was unconscious and not breathing. CPR was started and
the male was transported to the Intermountain Medical Center by Unified Fire. The male was declared deceased
shortly after arrival at 1431 hours. The male victim was identified as F.O. Several people were detained and
transported to the Sheriff's Office Building for interviews. Detectives were told the suspects and the victim are
known to each other. The suspects were identified as H.L, X.H., M.P., O.M., and E.E.
Detective Geoff Clark interviewed H.L. and she stated she and Xandre Hill went to H.M.'s residence because she
is a Husky dog breeder and they were looking for a puppy. She stated they met a female named B.O. who is
pregnant by the victim, F.O. They were told F.O. had beat B.O. two days ago and they saw she has a black eye.
While they were at the breeders, F.O. was seen going by on a non-motorized scooter. H.L. stated she and
Xandre Hill stayed behind while O.M., M.P. and A.P. (13 year old juvenile) went after F.0. H.L. stated she and
Xandre Hill got into his blue BMW. When they arrived at the Smith's located at 8055 W. 3500 S. they observed
O.M. hit F.O. with a Volkswagen Bug. After F.O. was hit with the car, F.O. began running southeast from Smith's
with O.M., Xandre Hill and E.E. chasing him where they beat him. Hannah stated she saw E.E. hitting F.O. with a
pole while he was down on the ground. H.L. stated she told H.M. to make them stop but she did not.
Video surveillance was obtained from Mezquite Mexican Grill located at 8025 W. 3500 S. In the video, detectives
observed at 1336 hours, F.O. running and O.M. (who is wearing a green sport bra and black shorts) chasing him.
O.M. throws two boards at F.O.'s back/head and as he gets to the sidewalk near 8000 W. 3567 S. O.M. grabs him
and was punching and kicking him. Detectives also observed Xandre Hill, who is wearing a Utah Jazz tank top
and E.E. who is wearing a red shirt and black pants carrying a long pole following O.M. All three begin to beat
F.O. At 1337 hours, H.M. who was wearing a blue tank top and black pants came from Smith's while riding a
scooter towards where F.O. was being assaulted. At 1338 hours, E.E. is observed walking back carrying a pole
followed by O.M. who was now riding a scooter and H.M. who was walking from where F.O. was left. At 1339
hours Xandre Hill returned and he was looking at his right hand and appeared to wipe it on the front of his shirt.
Xandre Hill and O.M. are currently wearing the same clothing detectives observed them to be wearing in the
video surveillance.
When Xandre Hill was being interviewed he admitted to tackling F.O. and punching him. He also stated that he
saw E.E. with a pipe. He saw hitting F.O. but did not know if it was the pipe or his fists.
M.P. was interviewed and stated F.O. is her stepdad and her mother is B.O. She stated F.O. beat her mother two
days ago and they have been scared to report it because F.O. is on parole and his probation officer will not do
anything to lock him up. M.P. stated everyone was outside at her H.M.'s house and she saw F.O. on his scooter
and told everyone. M.P. stated O.M. drove her silver Volkswagen Bug and she sat in the back seat and A.P. sat
in the front seat as they went after F.O. E.E. was in the back seat with M.P. on the way to contact F.O. M.P.
stated she has pepper spray on her keychain and she was the first one to get out of the car and try to go after
F.O. M.P. stated she tried to pepper spray F.O but the wind blew it into her face and she ran into the Smith's to
get it washed off her face. She stated she did not witness anything because of the pepper spray. E.E. never
came back to her vehicle and she did not know where he went.
O.M. was interviewed by detectives. She admitted chasing F.O. down and grabbing him. She also admitted
throwing a block of wood at him as he was running from her. O.M. grabbed F.O. Shortly after grabbing him,
Xander Hill and E.E. caught up and began hitting F.O.
