2. Function Test
2.1 NFF Test

Perform steps 1 to 6.
If any fault occurs at a step, terminate the test. And the
Summary phone is faulty.
If no fault is found until the test is completed, NFF is
determined.
NOTE:
For the test items that are not included in steps 1 to 6, refer to the user manual of the
phone.
2.2 Check IMEI
Input *#06# in the dialer to check if the IMEIs shown on the screen are the same as those
on the label, package and certificate.
2.3 Check Software Version
From the home screen, touch Settings > About phone > Build number to check the
software version.

3. Erase FRP Information
If the Factory Reset Protection (FRP) function is enabled on the ZTE 8010, use the tool
FRP Tool.exe to erase the FRP information.
NOTE:
The tool is only used for erasing the FRP information of the phone with Android 5.1 and
later.
3.1 Install Driver
1. Unzip the package MFG_DRV_PKG_SPRDV1.0.0B01.zip.
2. Run the setup program ZTE_Manufacture_USB_Driver(for SPRD).exe.
3. Follow the prompts and complete the installation.
3.2 FRP Erasing Procedure
1. Unzip the package PSTW_FRP_Z3051TAUSTELV1.0.0B01.zip.
2. Run the program FRP Tool.exe in the tool folder.
3. Click the Load packet button, and select the download file (.pac file).
NOTE:
The download file (.pac file) is zipped in the software download package (DL), which
can be downloaded from ZTE support website.

4. Click the Start button.
5. Power off the phone and press and hold the Volume down key of the phone, and then
connect the phone to the computer via the USB cable. Then the FRP tool
automatically starts to erase the FRP information. Wait until the erasing is completed.
NOTE:
Ensure the phone has at least 5% battery capacity left before you connect the phone
to the computer.

4. Software Download
4.1 Preparations and Cautions
Prepare an external storage card (with at least 3 GB free space).
Download the update package (update.zip) according to the phone model from the
website https://www.ztedevices.com/en/support. Then copy the file to the root
directory of the storage card.
NOTES:
If the file name of the downloaded package is not update.zip, unzip the package to
obtain the file.
Verify that the update.zip file matches the model of the phone. Do not modify the
file name.
Remove the nano-SIM cards before the update.
Back up the data and apps in the phone by using the built-in backup app in the phone
or other third-party apps.
NOTES:
Do not remove the storage card during the backup process.
To avoid data loss, it is not recommended to cancel the backup process.
Ensure the battery power is sufficient (at least 40%). Charge the phone if necessary.
To avoid data loss or update failure, it is not recommended to update the phone while it
is being charged.
Do not perform other operations on the phone during the update process to avoid
update failure.
A normal update should be completed in 10 minutes. If the phone does not reboot or
show any response after 10 minutes, perform the update again. If the phone cannot be
powered on, perform the mandatory update. If still failed, contact an after-sales service
agent for support.

4.2 Normal Update
1. Check and confirm the downloaded update package in the root directory of the storage
card can be normally read. Open the app list and touch File Manager > SD card to
view the file.
2. From the home screen, touch Settings > System > System update > INSTALL.

3. Touch UPDATE.
The phone will reboot and install the update. Wait until the installation is completed.
4.3 Mandatory Update
1. Copy the downloaded update package update.zip to the root directory of the storage
card. Then power off the phone.
2. Press and hold the Volume up key and the Power key. When the screen is lit, release
the Power key and keep holding the Volume up key until the phone enters Android
Recovery mode.
3. Press the Volume down key to select Apply update from SD card, and then press
the Power key to confirm it.
4. Press the Volume down key to select the update.zip file, and then press the Power
key to confirm it.
The phone will install the update and wait (about 5 minutes) until it is completed.

5. On the Install from SD card completed screen, select Reboot system now and
press the Power key to reboot the phone for normal use.
4.4 (Optional) Restore User Data
If the user data has been backed up in advance, please restore the data after the update.
1. Run the same backup and restore app you used for backing up the data.
2. Restore the user data by following the guides.
NOTES:
Do not remove the storage card during the restore process.
To avoid data loss, it is not recommended to cancel the restore process.

5. Camera Calibration
Each time when you disassemble the phone, you have to calibrate the rear cameras
following the steps below.
5.1 Calibration Preparation and Precautions
1. Place the camera calibration chart vertically. You can stick it on a wall.
2. Prepare a tripod for holding the phone. Ensure the phone is parallel to the plane of the
chart and the distance between them is 50 cm (+/-5 cm).
3. Use fluorescent lighting for indoor calibration. Do not over-expose or under-expose.
NOTE:
During calibration, make sure the chart is at the center of the preview area and the long
sides and wide sides of the chart are consistent with the long sides and wide sides of the
phone. The chart should take up at least 80% of the preview area. All the black and white
grids of the chart must be clearly visible through the camera.

5.2 Calibration Steps
1. Enter the command *#*#83788#*#* in the dialer.
2. Touch Solution B.
3. Place the phone on the tripod and touch the shutter icon.
Do not move the phone when the picture is being taken and calibration is being
processed. You will see notifications in yellow and blue windows during the process.

4. When the calibration is successfully completed, touch Pass.
5.3 Calibration Failure Codes and Solutions

• Check whether the chart is fully captured in the photo.

dark, too bright, or uneven. If so, adjust the light source.

6.3 Screw Toque and Installation Sequence

6.4 Disassembly Steps
The sample phone is for reference only. It might not be completely identical with yours.
1. Remove the nano-SIM/microSDXC card tray.
2. Heat the back camera lens by putting the phone onto a heating table (with the screen
facing up) for 3~5 minutes at 80 °C.
3. Starting from the card tray slot, use the housing disassembly tool to separate the
battery cover from the front cover.

4. Press the Power key inward to separate the fingerprint module from the battery cover.
5. Remove the 19 screws on the upper bracket and the SPK BOX.

6. Remove the upper bracket and the SPK BOX.
7. Disconnect the battery connector, the fingerprint module, the LCD FPC, and the
SUBFPC from the mainboard.

8. Disconnect the SUBFPC from the sub-board.

9. Disconnect the RF cable from the mainboard.
10. Disconnect the RF cable from the sub-board.

11. Remove the 2 screws from the sub-board.
12. Remove the sub-board.

13. Remove the motor and the motor FPC from the front cover.
14. Remove the SPK FPC from the front cover. Do not tear and cause damage to it.

15. Disconnect and remove the front camera from the mainboard.
16. Unlock the connector for the SKFPC.

17. Take out the SKFPC from the connector.
18. Remove the mainboard.

19. Remove the receiver from the front cover.
20. Remove the SKFPC.
NOTE:
The SKFPC is stuck to the front cover assembly with adhesive tape. Remove with care.

21. Disconnect and remove the back camera modules.

22. Heat the phone by putting it onto a heating table (with the screen facing down) for 3~5
minutes at 80 °C.
23. Use a slim plastic card to remove the battery.

check and confirm the software is the latest (updated) version.
