Procedures
Introductory 1. Prayer
Activity/Awareness 2. Checking of attendance.
3. Discussion: Introduction to Computer Networking.
Activity Using a LCD Projector Show to the class the following:
Different types of Network
Tools, materials and equipment needed
OHS Policies
Analysis Differentiate the types of networks, tools and materials.
Abstraction Computer networking is the practice of interfacing two or more computing devices
with each other for the purpose of sharing data. Computer networks are built with a
combination of hardware and software.
In Computer networking, we must be able to determine the best suitable tools,
equipment, materials and most of all an effective network design.
Application Using a piece of paper have them to analyze and draw the type of
networks being used in the computer laboratory. And list down the
much tools, materials and equipment needed.
Assessment I . What are the different types of networks.
II . Enumerate the following?
Tools
Materials
Equipment
Concluding Activty See to it that each one is able to participate in performing the activity.

Agreement Research about Networking standards

Remarks/Reflection

A. No. of learners who earned 80% on the

formative assessment
B. No. of Learners who require additional
activities for remediation

Learning Setting Up Computer Networks Code: TLE_IACSS912SUCN-
Competencies: LO1.2 Perform copper cable splicing IVa-j-33
based on Electronic Industries
Alliance / Telecommunications Industry
Association (EIA/TIA) standards

Performance The learners shall be able to set up computer networks based

Standard established procedures and system requirements for hardware.
Objectives
Knowledge Identify the different Cabling Standards based on EIA/TIA

Skills Demonstrate How to crimp a Straight-thru and cross-over cable.

Attitude Understand the difference between straight-thru and cross over cable
Values Perseverance
Content Network Cabling
Learning Resources https://www.computerhope.com/
Procedures
Introductory 1. Prayer
Activity/Awareness 2. Checking of attendance.
3. Discussion: Network Cabling Standards
Activity Using a LCD Projector Show to the class the following:
1. Networking Standards
A. T568A
B. T568B
2. A video about how to create a network cable
3. Demonstrate Straight-thru and crossover cabling
Analysis Differentiate the crossover and straight-thru cable.

Abstraction In Network Cabling, there are two standards used in the Philippines
and suggested by the Electronic Industries Alliance /
Telecommunications Industry Association (EIA/TIA) standards the
T568A and T568B.
That if, you are going to combine one end T568A and the other end is
T568B then you are making a CROSSOVER Cable. But if on both ends
are the same, like T568A on one end and same on the other or T568B
on one end and same on the other then you are making a Straight-thru
cable.

Application Using the materials available allow the class to do the activity by pairs.
1. Make a straight-thru cable
2. Make a Crossover cable.
Assessment The result of the activity will serve as their assessment.

Concluding Activity See to it that each one is able to participate in performing the activity.
