Abstract
The Online Shopping is a web based application intended to online for customer. The main
objective of this application is to make it interactive and its ease of use. It would make searching,
viewing and selection of a product easier. It contains sophisticated search methods for users to
search item specific forget their needs. The search engine provides an easy and convenient way
to search for products where a user can Search for a product interactively and the search engine
would refine the products available based on the user’s input. The user can then view the
complete detail of each product. The application also provides user can add a product to the
shopping cart by dragging the item in to the shopping cart. The main emphasis lies in providing
customer to order item in easy way by using add to cart or select one item .The system generate
receipt for the customer when successfully order item .The Admin have many privilege in the
system, such as delete, update item detail, create account for sales person, search item, view
comment and view report . The sales person also have privilege such as register item, search
item, view comment and view order.

1. Introduction
Taye Mola stationery shopping center is the system that involves selling and buying transaction
process .Such transaction are concentrate on literature materials like pens, pencils, erasers,
notebooks, backpacks, laminating paper , paper, carbon, calculator ,copy and printer colors,
printer , scanner, Photo copier , photo copier and printer spear parts , highlighter , exercises
books, staplers , sharpeners , setsquares , albums, envelops and other kinds of drawing material.

Taye Mola stationery shopping center is one of the well-known stationery shop in Bahir Dar city
that highly used by customer like student, instructor, secretary and etc. So the business has been
profitable and has worked out well for the Admin. The growth of stationery sales has been very
good and the store has been well received in the community.

1.1 Background
Taye mola Stationery Shop center was established in 1992 to serve the needs of local people in
Bahir Dar city, and has served in this area to present time. Besides give serves for customers and
company nearest to our system.
It is staffed by 5 employees (2 full-time and 3 part-time). The shop is funded primarily by Mr.
Taye mola. It recognizes a responsibility to improve education, self- sufficiency and job
marketability. Toward that goal it offers various stationery goods. The system have computers
recently been added to help with scanning, for store item name and cost and printing.

1.2 Vision
We intend to provide our customers with the best online shopping experience from beginning to
end, with a smart, searchable website, easy-to-follow instructions, clear and secure payment
methods, and fast, quality delivery.

1.3 Mission
To provide customers with the best value, quality products and excellent service, be a preferred
employer, to moderate the cost, and serve the needs of our members, the labor movement and the
community. It also guarantees that all its customers will be given utmost respect, love, attention
and service

1.4 Problem of Existing System


 It uses manual transaction process.
 The working hours are short.
 There are no advertisements.
 The use large time to processes transaction.
 There is no written cost description on items for customers.
 Use more labor.

1.5 Proposed System


 We automate the existing manual system.
 Customer can use online transaction system.
 We improve the working hour to 24hours.
 We use advertisement.
 There is description of information and cost of items.
 Our system have guarantee for customer within 24 hours.
 Use small labor.
1.6 Objective
1.6.1 General Objective
The main objective of this project is to automate the manual system, develop a user friendly and
avoids the need for unnecessary physical interaction as there will be a web platform where
everyone can do his work online.

1.6.2 Specific Objective


 There are many stationery shop center in Bihar Dar city, so the aim of this project is to
serve the customers by develop the following list of specific objective of the system:
 Produce the report.
 Display alert message.
 Generate receipt.
 Design the database for registering item detail using MySQL.
 Implement a web application using apache web server.
 Design different web page based on privilege.
 Design web interface of search, order and add to cart for all user.
 Design web interface of delete, update and report for Admin.
 Design web interface of register and add advertisement for sales person.
 Design web interface of comment for all user.
 Design web interface of login and logout for Admin and sales person.
 Design web interface of create account for Admin.

1.7 Significant Of the System


 Fulfill what customer needs.
 Decrease the load and number of employees.
 Be reliable and honest
 To describe stable cost of material.
 Be familiar with e-commerce.
 24 hour working time.
 Attract the customer.

1.8 Scope of the Study


The scope of the project is defined in terms of the tasks that the system accomplishes. Thus, the
scope of the project is limited to:

 Not give permission of transaction for customers who have no account number or
insufficient balance.
 Develop online selling and buying transaction for Taye Mola Stationery Shop center for
customer who lives around Bihar Dar city.
 Generate advertisement for items which price is discount and when new item is
registered.
 Generate and view report.
 Give privilege for register item and add advertisement only for sales person.
 Give privilege for login, view order, view alert message and view comment for Admin
and sales person.
 Give privilege for create account, delete item and update detail of item for Admin only.
 Displaying alert message for expire and insufficient item.
 Allow search and order item privilege for all user.
