to the bunny and the other eye eagerly on the lookout for some eggs. With a special luncheon strictly
limited to a company of twelve. And a program of daily (!) mini concerts; among the performers
Harmjan Roeles. And our Koes Staassen is one of the 17 exhibiting artists. Opening April 2 (3pm). In

T 2017
* The Tilburg Kunstpodium T Apprentice Master Program, where renowned artists temporarily
mentor a small group of art students, has been producing new coops (every mentorship produces at
least one group show) and friendships between old dogs and puppies. Nothing wrong with that but
in fact works out pretty conservative as it is reproducing existing practices and traditions in the art
world. The examples of bio-, sound-, techno art are hard to find and it’ll come as no surprise that
gender art is even rarer and queer art nonexistent. Let’s see whether mentor Jeroen Doorenweerd
can inspire his pups with some of his land art and spatial interventions –he was among the artists
who entered a design for the AIDS monument (2014)-. In Tilburg April 14-30. More:
www.kunstpodium-t.com and an equally useless Facebookpage. Maartje Folkeringa (teacher at HKU)
who will be presenting the results of her mentorship April 28-May 14 at least has the courtesy of
mentioning her apprentices on her Facebook page: Ana Jagodic, Kira Fröse (liquid ceramics!?) and
Linda Smits.

Fonds Anna Cornelis awards grants for long-term photographic documentary projects (so not for
exhibitions neither for books). It is calling for proposals in a nationwide ad. In it some previous –but
only male- award winners are mentioned. Is it as bad as that? Well almost but not quite: in 1993 (!)
Carel van Hees got a grant for his project Leven met AIDS and Rob Philip got a grant for his
documentary Bisnisjongens –boys- (1998). But among the few women photographers Annie van
Gemert stands out with two grants for her documentary Stoere meisjes, zachte jongens about tough
girls and soft boys in 2003 and 2005. In it she documented kids navigating the gender binary from
early childhood into adolescence. Application deadline is June 1. More: www.fondsannacornelis.nl (in
Dutch only). But who the heck was Anna Cornelis –no info on the fund’s site, nor in BWN and not
even in Kloek!-? Give it a try –in any language- and let me know if you find anything.
