1. Business Requirements
In this business requirements involved defining customer needs and objectives in the context of
planned customer use, environments and identified system such like
 A system that improves on the efficiency of information storage and retrieval.
 A system that is easy to learn and use
 A system that is fast in processing transactions
 A system that is flexible, safe and convenient

1.1. Background
When I planning to think about such management system it have been more than one year b/c
of I am living in Jigjiga city and there is a problem to be solve with this. I have asked some
peoples about rental house and they told me. When they got a rental house with cajoler it is
spadework (tiresome) and they couldn’t find a good house with low price. And a location is more
important for users. Some users want to find a work place at near to the city but it is hard to
find.
Also house(buliding) owner wants to rent early with good money.
So I have planed to work on this!

1.2. Business Opportunity

The users may not go out searching a rental house for them or there friends and also no need
to go to the cajoler. Just using there phone they can rent a house what eaver they like.
Considering those fact, I decided to develop a rental house management system that can solve
all the problems experienced with the current manual system. The system was developed in
such manner that it provides maximum user friendly interface.

1.3. Business Objectives

Ones you the user logs in the system automatically show three forms;
-House form
-Rent payment form
-Tenants registration form.
Each form has several command buttons; new, save, cancel, delete, next, previous and exit.
With the command buttons you can manipulate the database. It is easy to use.
The focus of this research project is basically managing housing for low income, medium and
high incomes households or what is commonly known as affordable housing. „Affordable‟ is a
term used to describe individuals‟ capability to pay for certain products or services because
their income is enough to do so.

1.4. Success Metrics

When I am defining the success of this project. When it becomes useful, usable and used for
the users. In Ethiopia specially in Addiss abeba it is hard to find a rental house. if we use such
management system our calture of rental system will develop.
Vision and Scope for<RHMS> Page 2

1.5. Vision Statement

Rental house management has become important factor in Ethiopian society hence the need to have a
rental house management system.
Housing has a central importance to quality of life with considerable economic, social, cultural and
personal significance.
- To develop a rental house management system that allows the user to view customers‟ data as well as
houses record.
- To develop a system that allows the users to add, edit, search and delete data from the database.
- To study and analyze the requirement specifications of the rental house management system.
- To produce the Software Requirement Specification of the system .
- To produce the Software Design Document of the system.

1.6. Business Risks

- our society is not experienced on such thing. So, may be they will not accept as soon
penetrating.
- Internet connection of lack (in Ethiopia).
- acess of smart phone.
- cultural system (using cajoler (delala) )
- seen a house image and seen with there eyes, may be expectation will be different.

1.7. Business Assumptions and Dependencies

This software is depend on :
- smart phone
- computer system(pc)
- internet conection
- softwares
- rental houses(no rental hours, no user)
- bank account balance
- stekholders must receive and respond.

2. Scope and Limitations

Study and understand the requirement of this project Construct Software Requirement
Specification document of the system Construct Software Design Document of the system.

We are stuck with technology when what we really want is just stuff that works. With the current
paradigm shift in technological field, there is an urgent need to embrace and appreciate the
power of technology. Housing sector remains vigilant to face the challenges of change by
employing a new strategy that facilitates easy management of rental houses. Hence there is
need to develop a rental house management system that can simplify work for the rental
managers so that all their work can be efficient and effective.
Some limitations
- the company it doesn't give transportation(only location and phone call)
- no earth map
-no post (only administrator can post)
Vision and Scope for<RHMS> Page 3

2.1. Major Features

- It has more picture of houses.
- detail information about rental house
- It has secure account that connect with bank
- easy payment process
- easy to understand the location
- no extra payment

2.2. Scope of Initial Release

The product is intended to bring to the various customer communities. either owner or customer
can communicate with the online system. Which means the house owner can choose the
occupant (tenants).
This project traverses a lot of areas ranging from business concept to computing field, and
required to perform several researches to be able to achieve the project objectives.

If you want to add data to the database all you need to do is to click on new then input
data in the textboxes provided then click save and the data will automatically be saved. If you
want to view data in the database you just click next or previous and the data will be displayed
for you. When you click delete you will be able to delete a record that you desire. You may enter
data then decide to cancel it, it is simple click on cancel and it will be canceled.

2.3. Scope of Subsequent Releases

- Any one can can post a picture of rental houses. And communicate with the Admin.
- Communication with mobial banking system
- Sell and buy houses

2.4. Limitations and Exclusions

- not planned to chat or messaging each ather.
- it is national website not international

3. Business Context
To develop a rental house management system that allows the user to view customers‟ data as
well as houses record To develop a system that allows the users to add, edit, search and delete
data from the database.

forms context: houses form, rent payment form and tenants‟ registration form. Each form has
several command buttons; new, save, cancel, delete, next, previous and exit.

3.1. Stakeholder Profiles

Stakeholders are organizations that are actively involved in a project, are affected by its
outcome, or can influence its outcome.
- There will be Admin
- security
- user or custemer
- manager
Vision and Scope for<RHMS> Page 4

Examples of stakeholder value include:

 improved time usege

 reduced lack of computerized system
 cost savings
 streamlined business processes
 automation of previously manual tasks
 ability to perform entirely new tasks or functions
 conformance to current standards or regulations
 improved usability or reduced frustration level compared to current applications

Example:>

Custemer quick access Creating account, ability to understand no budget for

3.2. Project Priorities

The main deliverables of this project will be the complete software system and the software
engineering document that include:
- Software Requirement and Specification
- Software Design Document
- The Software engineering document will be constructed
Some schedule:
 Feasibility study
 Project proposal
 Analysis
 Design
 Development
 Testing
 Implementation
 Report writting

3.3. Deployment Considerations

Our project is meant to satisfy the needs of rental house owners. Several user friendly
interfaces have also been adopted. This package shall prove to be a powerful in satisfying all
the requirements of the users It is with utmost faith that I present this software to you hoping
that it will solve your problems and encourage you to continue appreciating technology because
it is meant to change and ease all our work that seems to be very difficult. I don‟t mean that my
project is the best or that I have used the best technology available it just a simple and a
humble venture that is easy to understand.

In conclusion, the software can be used as an inventory system to provide a frame work that
enables the mangers to make reasonable transactions made within a limited time frame. Each
transaction made on the system go hand in hand with the data being updated in the database in
our case it is Microsoft Access 219 which is the back end. Last but not least it is not the work
that played the ways to success but ALMIGHTY GOD.
