1. These colors are used in traffic lights, with red meaning stop, yellow meaning caution,
and green meaning go. As the color red has the longest wavelength among the 2 colors,
so people can easily see when they should stop driving. It’s also because these colors
already have meaning to each, with red meaning danger, green meaning ‘okay’, and
yellow meaning ‘be careful’.
2. It is because of the chlorophyll in plants. Chlorophyll only absorbs red and blue light,
which mixes to green, so that's why green is the color that gets reflected back to our
eyes.
