Acceleration Head and Npsha For BR-C Closed Drain Pump

This document calculates the acceleration head and net positive suction head available (NPSHa) for different pipe configurations supplying a closed drain pump. It finds that for a 2-inch schedule 160 pipe that is 7.3 meters long, the acceleration head is 2.98 meters. However, the NPSHa of -1.8 meters is less than the required NPSHr of 1-1.19 meters, meaning the pump suction configuration is not adequate based on the calculations.
