Switch & Router
Step 1
Plug the supplied power cord into the Switch and the other end into a
power outlet, power strip, or surge protector (recommended). Verify
the Power indicator is lit on the Switch.
HOW TO CONFIGURE
Step 2
Connect one end of an Ethernet cable in the device you want to
connect to the Switch and the other end into one of the Ethernet ports
on the Switch. Check the Link lights (LEDs) on both the Switch and
the device to verify that the cable is good and that there is a valid
connection.
HOW TO CONFIGURE
End nodes include PCs outfitted with a 10, 100, or 1000 Mbps RJ-45
Ethernet Network Interface Card (NIC) and most routers. An end node
can be connected to the switch via a twisted-pair Category 3, 4, 5, or
5e UTP/STP cable. The end node can be connected to any of the
ports of the switch.
The Link/Act LEDs for each UTP port light green when the link is valid.
The LED over the port label indicates a port speed of either 10/100
Mbps or 1000Mbps. A blinking LED on the bottom indicates packet
activity on that port.
