3rd TERM

UNIT: TEAM SPORTS : FLOORBALL.

1.- FLOORBALL KEY POINTS

1.1.- THE COURT/PLAYING FIELD
It is 40m long and 20 m wide. The goal area is 5m long and 4 m wide. The
goalkeeper area is 2 m long and 1 m wide. The goal the behind goal area are
separated from the field by a distance of 3.5 m.

1.2.- THE EQUIPMENT.

- The players - Play with a hard plastic stick

- The goalkeeper - Uses various protection (padded pants, vests,
knee pads, etc) and must wear a helmet at all times.

- Ball - plastic is hollow with holes in it.

1.3.- DURATION OF THE GAME.- 3 periods of 20 minutes, with breaks of 5 minutes.

1.4.- THE TEAM - Consists of 5 players and a goalkeeper.

1.5.- FUNDAMENTAL SKILLS

A) Gripping the stick

The first is to determine if the player is "left" or "right" depending on the hand you put on top.
Typically the stronger hand at the top.

B) Moving with the ball

When we move with the ball, it is better to control it close to the stick and lift your head to get
a better vision.

C) The Pass
We must distinguish two different types of technical moves:

- Drag Pass: In this technical movement the ball is attached to the stick head throughout the movement
until it leaves in the direction of a teammate. Start with the ball attached to the stick blade and turn the
stick until the stick head is pointing at a teammate. The stick head is "pointing" to where we want the
ball to.

- Wrist Pass: - Assist wrist: the ball is in front of us the club is located slightly behind us with the tip
of the blade pointing to the ball. Bringing the blade to the ball and hit it while you turn the wrist,
placing the blade perpendicular to the place we want to aim the ball.
D) The Shot

- Drag Shot: This skill is similar to the pass but adding more power for the shot, pressed by hand
below the bar while we pull the hand up, this causes the double post and the stretch will transmit
more power to the ball. It is used in the middle distance shots while moving with the ball

- Wrist Shot : A useful movement as a lot of power is not necessary.

You can perform this shot very quickly.
- Slap shot: This style of a shot a performed from a distance and when
free from an opponent. The ball is placed out in front of the player.
The stick must make contact with the ground before hitting the ball.
The ball is hit with a lot of power, resulting in more speed towards the goal.

1.6.- PERMITTED/ALLOWED ACTIONS.

- Hitting or direct the ball to the 2 sides of the stick.

- Stop the ball with the stick, foot or chest.
- Play the ball using the sideline band or curb.
- Remove the ball from the opponent without hitting his stick.
- Place the stick into the goal area.

1.7.- ACTIONS NOT PERMITTED/ALLOWED.

- Entering the goal area if an attacker.

- Lifting the stick above the knee.
- Playing a ball with the hand or head.
- Passing the ball to another player with his foot.
- Playing ball lying on the ground.
- Pushing an opponent.
- Raining the stick to an opponent.

m.
- Restart the game after each goal with a face-off at midfield.

2.- COMMON CHARACTERISTICS OF COLLECTIVE SPORTS

2.1.- Technical Level

1.- Attacking Actions:

- Player with the ball (possession, progression, shooting, passing,...).

- Player without the ball (lose/get away, changes in direction, feints,...).

2.- Defensive Actions: Players must show good defensive movement, good positioning, and rapid and
precise movements:

- Player with the ball (steal the ball, stop, force opposition to make errors,...).
- Player without the ball (alert, support, defensive triangle,...).

2.2.- Tactical Level

A) Tactics 1: Collective Attack:

- Objectives:
 Always moving
 Progress towards goal
 Working on both

- Phases: Retrieving the ball and organising a counter attack..

B) Tactics 2: Collective Defence:

- Objectives:
 Retrieve possession of the ball
 Prevent the advance of the opposition

- Phases: loss of possession, defensive balance and organisation.

In conclusion, our goal is:

We must ensure that a player is intelligent and can analyze a situation quickly, successfully acting on this
analysis for the benefit of the team. The technique and tactics must be learned from childhood to perform
well in all sports.
Youth teams in different team sports can make great tactical plan or approaches against top teams, so set
your team objectives.
