Checklist For Design & Drawing of Compound Wall and Main Gate

The document provides checks for the design and drawing of a compound wall and main gate. It checks parameters like the wall height, thickness of concrete panels, footing depth, and load testing of precast members. It also checks the design of the main gate, including the frame material, painting, fittings for opening and closing, and dimensions. Finally, it checks aspects of the drawings like north direction, scale, units, title block details, and inclusion of a legend. Deviations from the requirements are noted.

Standards for Construction of Electrical Plants and Electric Lines Regulations, 2010.
Sl.No Parameters to be Checked OK NOT OK Remarks, if any
A BOUNDARY WALL
Boundary wall & fencing shall be designed for the most critical loading
combination taking care of wind force, stability, tension on wires, minimum
1 requirements as per this clause and relevant IS recommendations.

The total height of boundary wall shall be 2000 mm above formation level
(natural ground level in case formation level is less than natural ground level).
Upto height of 2000 mm, it shall be constructed with precast reinforced cement
concrete panels / cast in situ RCC panels and over that for 700 mm , concertina
coil with maximum loop spacing of 125 mm shall be provided with 80 micron
2 hot dip galvanized with ISA 60X60X4 or ISA 40X40X5. The RCC precast/cast in
situ reinforced concrete columns shall be provided at spacing not more than
2700 mm c/c.

The RCC precast/cast in situ reinforced concrete columns and footing shall be
3 minimum 1000 mm below finished formation level.
The precast reinforced concrete/cast in situ RCC panels shall be at least 600
4 mm below formation level.
The RCC precast concrete columns/ cast in situ RCC panels of minimum size
300mmX2130 mm so as to receive Precast Concrete RCC panels spanning from
column to column with minimum width of 525 mm and minimum thickness of
5 100mm as filler wall(non shrink cement grout). The grade of concrete for all
precast/cast in situ work shall be of M30 grade conforming to IS 456.

The precast/ cast in situ reinforced cement concrete coping with minimum
projections of 150mm on each side shall be provided at the top of the precast
reinforced cement concrete panels / cast in situ RCC panels with suitable
provision for MS angle Post for concertina throughout the boundary wall.
6 Opening for gates/drains and for other crossing has to be suitably provided as
per the requirement/drawing/instructions of engineer in charge

All exposed concrete surfaces of all precast members/ cast in situ RCC members
have high quality shuttering finish with tolerance of +/- 5mm. Plinth protection
of 150mm thickness PCC (M20) shall be provided on both side of boundary wall
7 extending up to 300mm from centre line of boundary wall

Load test on precast members shall be carried out @ 2% upto 1000 nos., @1%
from more than 1000 nos., for precast members of one type. The load test
8 shall be carried out as per the provisions of IS-456.

Expansion and contraction joints shall be provided as required and to the

9 approval of the Owner, to prevent cracking in the walls.
Wall and gate foundations shall be designed to suit allowable bearing
10 pressure on the subsoil and take account of the worst combination of dead,
live, wind, seismic and erection loads.

B MAIN GATE
The main gates in boundary wall shall be provided as per SUZLON approved
standard design / drawing. The outer frame of gate shall be of MS tube( 50 x 50
1 x 4.5 mm ,wt 6.02kg/mtr )

The gates shall be fabricated with welded joints to achieve rigid connections.
The gate frames shall be painted with one or more coat of approved steel
2 primmer and two coats of synthetic enamel paint.

Gates shall be fitted with approved quality iron hinges. Hinges shall permit
3 gates to swing through 180 degree.

Gates shall be fitted with galvanized chain hook or gate hold back to hold gates
4 open. Double gates shall be fitted with centre rest and drop bolt to secure gates
in closed position.

Main Gate shall be 6m wide. Gates shall be installed in locations shown on

drawings. Next to the main gate, a men gate (1.25 m wide, single leaf) shall also
5 be provided as a wicked gate.

6 Bottom of gates shall be set approximately 40mm above ground surface and
necessary guiding mechanism shall be fitted as per site requirement.
7 The gates shall be provided with suitable locking arrangement.
To prevent gates jamming on roads when the road gradient rises in
the same direction as the gate opening, the area adjacent to the gates shall be
8 kept level whilst maintaining road profile.

C DRAWING
1 Check North Direction, Check Scale, Check units, Check Grid Dimensions
The information within the Title Block of each drawing has been reviewed for
2 accuracy including the “Designed By”, “Drawn By”, “Checked By” and “File No.”
fields.
The Index Sheet has been coordinated with the current list of
3 architectural drawings with respect to drawing number and title.

A drawing has been included to identify abbreviations and symbols utilized on
