REPORTED SPEECH.

1. “ I think you should see a doctor”, my mother said.

2. “I won’t help you”, Tom said.

3. “O.K. I’ll do it for you”, his friend said.

4. “I’ve no idea what the weather is like”, he said.

5. “I’ve been working here since I was 20”, he said.

6. “Shall we have a party tonight?”, Mary said.

7. “I won’t answer any question”, said the arrested man.

8. “Do you like playing chess?”, they asked.

9. “We can’t get into the house”, they said.

10. “Well, you see. I’ve been working and I am very tired”, she said.

11. “Yes, I also think he is a bit stupid”, the girl said.

12. “Would you mind finishing those letters, please?”, the man said.

13. “Would you like me to give you a lift?”, said the driver.

14. “Can I help you? Come in and look round. There’s no obligation to buy”, said the

shopkeeper.

15. “Sorry. I didn’t post your letters”, my friend said.

16. “I can speak five languages fluently”, the secretary said.

17. “Do you understand it now? I’ll explain it to you later if you don’t”, he said.

18. “Don’t put sticky things in your pockets”, Tom’s mother said.

19. “Why don’t you put an advertisement in the local paper?”, he said.

20. “I didn’t see Peter yesterday”, said his girlfriend.

21. “How are you getting on with your English?”, the teacher said.

22. “It’s freezing cold in here. Why did you open the window?”, she said.

23. “Could you show me the ticket, please?”, said the inspector.

24. “I’ve run out of stamps”, said my father.

25. He said: “Don’t walk on the ice, it isn’t safe”.
