1. The Pinoy Henyo activity is an English speaking competition open to students of De La Salle Araneta University to enhance oral communication skills. 2. Groups of 2 students will pay a 50 peso registration fee and take turns having one member guess a mystery word or phrase while blindfolded, based only on the yes, no, or maybe responses of their partner within a 2 minute time limit. 3. The competition will have an elimination round to determine the top 5 fastest groups to advance to the final round, where groups will guess phrases instead of single words. The 3 groups that guess their phrases the fastest will be awarded prizes.

1. This activity is open for all bonafied students of De La Salle Araneta University
2. The aims for this contest are to enhance the oral communication skills of all the students using the English language.
Moreover, it develops the listening skills of students, promotes teamwork and time under pressure.
3. A group will consist of 2 members. Each group will pay P50.00 for the registration fee.
4. Groups are composed of 2 members: the one who will guess the word/phrase and the
other is the one who will respond to the guesser.
5. The group’s name will be called and must go to the stage. They will pick a number and
that number corresponds to a word/phrase that they will be guessing.
6. There will be 2 rounds for this game. The elimination round wherein all the groups will guess the mystery word that
they have picked. Then, the final round in which top 5 groups will play to guess the phrase they chose.
7. The guesser will be blindfolded furthermore the group must sit three meters away from
each other to avoid cheating.
8. They will be given strictly 2 minutes only to guess the word/ Phrase. The timer will start
automatically after the word/phrase is seen
9. It is strictly implemented that the group must speak the English Language in questioning and answering/replying
back until they finally guess the word/phrase. Ones they speak in Filipino, 5 seconds would be added to their end time.
10. If it so, the one who will respond must only say:YES,NO, andMAYBE. There will be
no other words to answer or else 5 seconds will be added to their time.
11. When the group finally guesses the word, the timer will be stopped and the recorder will note the group’s time. If
they have deductions, it would be added to their end time. the computed end time would be the final result of their
end time.
12. All the groups who reach the time and did not guess the mystery word/phrase will be
automatically eliminated
13. After elimination round, the recorder will tally the time and will get the top 5 fastest
group who will step to the final round
14. In the final round, the steps will be the same as the elimination round but instead of guessing the word, they
guesser will guess a phrase. The replier now will say some examples of that phrase so that the guesser would have an
idea what would be the phrase.
15. The 3 fastest groups who will guess the phrase wins the game and gets the prize.
16. People/groups caught coaching or cheating will be automatically disqualified.
17. Tie Breaker: for the groups who have the same end time, they will be guessing another
word. The group with the shortest time of guessing will proceed to the final round.
18. The 3 groups with the shortest time of guessing will be awarded as: 3rd placer, 2nd
placer, and Champion. Winners will receive certificates and trophies
