Double Integration Method: I. Ii. Iii. IV

This document provides instructions for an assignment on determining beam deflections using the double integration method. Students are asked to read about the double integration method in their textbook, watch related YouTube videos, and solve two problems applying this method to calculate the maximum deflection of simply supported beams under different loading conditions.

a. Read : Double Integration Method in pages 268-271 of Fundamentals of Structural
Analysis, Fifth Edition by Leet et’al.
b. Study : Examples 7.1 and 7.2 in pages 272-274.

2. Answer the following problems (to be submitted individually)

a. Determine the maximum deflection in a simply supported beam of length L carrying a
concentrated load P at midspan.

b. A simply supported beam carries two symmetrically placed concentrated loads. Compute
the maximum deflection using Double Integration Method. Assume EI is constant.
