CYCLONE SERIES HIGH EFFICIENCY CENTRIFUGAL
PARTICULATE SEPARATOR
GENERAL INFORMATION
Three cyclone designs are offered in order to best meet the application’s
requirements. The GP series is designed for economical first cost and
is currently used for general purposes. The HE series is tuned to obtain
a higher efficiency in more critical applications.
THEORY OF OPERATION
As the dirty air enters the cyclone, it is forced into a swirling motion. This
results in a centrifugal force acting on the dust particles suspended in
FIG.01
the air stream. The particles, denser than the air, are forced to move MULTICYCLONIQUE WITH
outwards, and towards the cyclone wall. They then fall downwards, PRE-SEPARATOR
towards the dust bottom outlet. The clean air is eventually directed
towards the center of the cyclone and leaves through the top gas exit.
HERE ARE SOME OF THE FEATURES AND BENEFITS THAT THE CRITERIA FOR SELECTING A CYCLONE SERIES
COME WITH THE CYCLONE SERIES DUST COLLECTOR. CENTRIFUGAL PARTICULATE SEPARATORS SYSTEM ARE:
• Stable pressure drop for a given gas flow • Air flow (cfm)
• Constant efficiency for a given particulate condition • Temperature of the application (F)
• No moving parts; no replaceable filters • Air Speed at Inlet (fpm)
• Robust construction • Dust quantity entering the cyclone (lbs/hr)
• Ability to handle extremely high dust concentrations • Particle density and granulometry distribution
(lbs/ft3)
• High temperature and pressure capability
• Low capital investment and maintenance costs If an overall efficiency is required, a granulometric dust
• Compact distribution as to be supplied.
