Reflect - What would be the most efficient way to organize your students to assign work?

1. Set up your own Boom Learning Account


a. Visit https://wow.boomlearning.com/
b. Click Teachers
c. Click the blue “Create a free trial account”
d. Click “Join with Google” and click your St. Serra email
e. Click “Yes! Create account!”
f. Click two boxes “I agree”
i. Terms of Service AND Privacy Policy
g. Click Classes on the top blue bar of your dashboard
h. Click New Classroom
i. Click on New Student
j. Name the student (or group) and give them a password
k. Click Okay

2. How to Create Picture Passwords: Simplified passwords for students. There is also a QR Code
option to take students to your classroom
a. Click the dropdown arrow next to the student box
b. Click the “Set Passwords” button
c. Password Manager will pop up.
d. Check the box that says “Use Picture Passwords for this classroom”
e. Click Okay
f. Select 2-16 pictures
g. Click Select New Password

3. How to Add a Deck to Your Library: You need to first add decks to your library before you assign it to
your students. Students will not see these activities until you assign it to them.
a. Click on Library on the blue bar at the top
b. You can start with the button on the screen that says “Show me free stuff”
c. Note that the Dashboard changes to “Store”
i. This is where you want to go to search for more activities!
d. Each item in the store costs points
e. Type a concept/subject into the search bar
i. Set the Sort By Bar – Price: Low to High
f. Click on an activity to preview it (or press the full size preview)
g. Each activity will have a navigation menu to move through the questions
h. Teach students to complete an activity and then press the blue check
i. If you like the activity, press the green “Add to Library” button.

4. How to Assign a Deck to your Group/Class


a. Click on Library at the top: all purchased decks will show up here
b. Click on the Action button
c. Click Assign
d. Select your class DONE!
e. Check the assignment
i. Click Classes at the top
ii. Select your class on the left
iii. Click Assignments (#)
iv. The red check means it is assigned to this class

5. How to Change Group Assignments


a. Click Classes on the top
b. Select your class on the left
c. Click Students
d. Select the dropdown arrow for a student (group)
e. Click Assign
f. Assigned Decks Pop up
i. Red Checks (assigned)
ii. Blue Boxes (not assigned)

6. How to Check Data


a. Click Reports at the top
b. Select the class/assignment on the left
