Celsius and Fahrenheit

Celsius is a measurement of temperature in which 0 degrees

represents the freezing point of water, and 100 degrees represents water’s
boiling point at the standard atmosphere, which is the mean barometric
pressure at the mean sea level. This temperature scale was developed by
Andres Celsius in 1742.

Fahrenheit temperature scale, scale based on 32° for the freezing

point of water and 212° for the boiling point of water, the interval between
the two being divided into 180 equal parts. This temperature scale was
developed by Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit.
HOW TO CONVERT TEMPERATURE

Always be guided by the table that follows to get the best results
in baking. In converting temperatures, use the following
formulas:

°Fahrenheit to °Celsius T(°c) = °F – 32 / 1.8

°Celsius to °Fahrenheit T(°F) =°C x 1.8 + 32
Sample computation:
1. Convert 68 degrees Fahrenheit to degrees
Celsius:

Given: 68 °F convert to °C
Solution:
T(°c) = 68°F – 32 / 1.8
= 36 / 1.8
= 20 °C
2. Convert 20 degrees Celsius to degrees
Fahrenheit:

Given: 20°C convert to °F

Solution:
T(°F) = 20°C × 1.8 + 32
= 36 + 32
= 68 °F
