1. Site

DEVELOPMENT OF THE PROJECT HIGHWAY
Development of the Project Highway shall include construction of the Project Highways as described in this
Schedule-B and in Schedule-C.
2.1. Two Laning of existing road shall include construction of the Four-Lane with Paved shoulder Project
Highway as described in Annex-I of this Schedule-B and Annex-I of Schedule C.
2.2. The project Highway shall be designed and constructed in conformity with the Specifications and
Standards set forth in Annex-I of Schedule-D.

ANNEX-I
(Schedule - B)
Description of Four Laning with paved shoulder
1. Width of Carriageway
1.1. The paved carriageway shall be 9.00 meters (7m Carriageway +1.5m Paved Shoulder+0.5m Shyness
strip at Median edge) including paved shoulder (unidirectional camber) with 2 meter earthen
shoulder. The median width shall be 1.5m excluding shyness strip.
1.2. Except as otherwise provided in this Agreement, the width of paved carriageway shall Confirm to
clause 1.1 above
2. Project Facilities
The Project Highways shall be constructed in conformity with the Specifications and Standards specified in
Annex-I of Schedule-D.
The Project Highways are proposed to be widened to four lane with paved shoulder with service/slip roads
only at Mocha village VUP locations. The widening of project road shall be as indicated below:

The typical cross section drawings of four-lane highway with paved shoulder sections are presented.
Different types of cross sections that are to be developed in different segments of the project highway are
indicated in Appendix B I. No Change of Scope shall be considered for change in type of Cross section or
change in length of Cross Section.
Type of pavement shall be provided as per Section 5 of the Manual,(IRC-SP-84-2014). Flexible pavement for
main carriageway and new service road/ slip road and for widening of the existing pavement shall be
designed for a minimum design period of 15 years. The pavement type at Toll Plaza including tapering zone
shall be rigid.
The minimum Pavement composition of Main Carriageway including Service/slip road shall be as follow.
BC- 40mm, DBM- 60mm, WMM- 250mm, GSB- 200mm , Subgrade-500mm
The EPC contractor shall construct both side I-Kerbs in the Median.

The Bypasses and Realignments proposed along the project highway are indicated in Appendix B III.
At-grade intersections shall be provided at the intersection of service road and all intersecting roads at
locations specified in Appendix B VI major intersections, Minor intersections are listed at Appendix B VII.
The grade separated structures / interchanges shall be as provided as given at Appendix B VIII.
4.9. Underpasses
The proposed Vehicular, Cattle and Pedestrian Underpasses are indicated in AppendixBIX,
The proposed span arrangement is tentative as listed in Appendix B X and the same shall be finalized in
consultation with Irrigation Authority & Authority Engineer. Any change in span arrangement shall not be
treated as change in scope of work

The proposed span arrangement is tentative as listed in Appendix B XI and the same shall be
finalized in consultation with Competent Authority& Authority Engineer. Any change in span
arrangement shall not be treated as change of scope of work (for New Structure)
4.12. Culverts
The side slope shall be protected by using suitable slope protection measures wherever required along the
present highway. Necessary slope protection works at Ground Improvement shall be carried out with toe
wall along with CC line on slope for location Ch 362.800 to 366.800. (The work slope protection shall not be
treated as change of scope of work)
Provided typical cross section in appendix B-1, the width of carriageway in isolated built upIbuilt-up area
shall be as per following table:
Provision for accommodating utilities shall be made both overhead as well as underground wherever
required as per site requirement.
Shifting of obstructing utilities to an appropriate location in accordance with the standards and
specifications of concern Utility Departments is a part of scope of work for the contractor. Shifting of
underground /over-head utilities including electrical/power utilities shall be responsibility of the
contractor, whether indicated in Schedule-B or not. No Change of Scope (COS) shall be allowed for such
over ground utilities whether indicated in Schedule-B or not. However, underground utilities as indicated in
the Schedule-B will only be considered as part of scope of work. Underground utilities, if any, not included
in the Schedule-B shall be treated as Change of Scope. The bidder may visit the site and assess the

Note: Two numbers Double pole transformer (Double Pole Structure with 11KV AB switch and DO fuse on
11m RSJ pole) are situated near existing service have underground electrical utilities which needs to be
relocated/shifting to construct underpass with service road)

Notes:
The above Cross sections are tentative and may require changes (Types, location & length) as per
site conditions with approval of Authority Engineer, changes shall not induce COS/variation and
shall be without any cost to the Authority.
The details of project highway as given B-I is tentative and cannot be considered as design plan &
profile. The actual design of plan and profile shall be carried out by contractor following IRC-84 :
2014) and adopted vertical profile shall be designed for ISD and horizontal geometry shall be
within the land (ROW) provided by authority, as per approval of Authority Engineer. There shall not
be any COS/variation due to additional length of approaches, earthwork, its RE wall, drain, slip
roads, accelerating/deaccelerating lane, footpath, separator, retaining wall, toe wall etc. while
adopting ISD design standard throughout the project length.
All above Cross section shall be designed within the available ROW. Toe wall, RCC retaining wall etc
if required to accommodate the cross section within ROW shall not call for the Change of Scope.

PROJECT FACILITIES
1. Project facilities
The concessionaire shall construct the Project Facilities described in this Annex-I to form part
of the four/two-lane project highway as per IRC: SP: 84 – 2014. The project facilities shall
include:
Toll plaza;
Roadside furniture
(a) Street lighting;
(b) Roadside furniture
(c) Street lighting;
(d) Landscaping and tree plantation;
(e) Truck lay bye
(f) Bus bays and passenger shelters;
(g) Others;
(h) Utilities
a) Toll Plaza shall be provided with Electronic Toll Collection (ETC system) in accordance with
guidelines given in 4- lane Manual. Toll plaza shall be provided at locations indicated below;
b) Roadside Furniture
The provision of road side furniture shall be finalized as per Manual of Specifications and in
consultation with the Authority Engineer.

Traffic signs and pavement markings shall include roadside signs, overhead signs; curb
mounted signs and road marking along the Project Highway. The design and marking for the
Project Highway shall be as per the design standard indicated in Schedule-D and the location
for various treatments shall be finalized in consultation with the Authority Engineer.
Adequate number of road studs and delineators demarcating the edge lines, lane markings,
junctions shall be provided to ensure safety of pedestrian &traffic.
ii. The road studs shall be to improve the visibility in night-time and wet-weather conditions.
These shall be prismatic retro-reflective type two way markers conforming ASTM 04280. Red
colour may be used to indicate no entry as also edge markings.
iii. Concrete crash barrier, Metal beam crash barrier, Separators (MS railing). Metal beam crash
barrier shall be provided all along the median with anti- glare measures such as plastic
screens and also as per the requirement stipulated in IRC SP 84-2014.
iv. Road Boundary stones for the entire length as per Manual of Specifications
v. Traffic safety devices where required
vi. Hectometre/kilometre stones
vii. Traffic blinker signals (LED) at intersections and Median openings where required
c) Pedestrian facilities:
i. Pedestrian guard rail: Provide Pedestrian guard rail at each bus stop locations
ii. Pedestrian crossing: Provide pedestrian crossing facilities on service roads and Median
openings.
d) Highway Lighting
(i)Built up Areas, Toll plaza, Bus stops and Truck lay Byes as per Schedule D
(ii) High mast lighting shall be provided at all Major junctions, Toll plaza locations
(iii) Solar Blinker at all minor junctions.
