I. Course Description
This course introduces the learners to concepts, theories, and results of researches done in the
field of human behavior in organization. The primary purpose is to equip learners with an understanding
of both psychological and contextual factors that affect behavior in the organization so that they will
become effective members, managers, and leaders in challenging organizational environment.

The course discusses theories in psychology and best practices in enhancing employee
productivity and engagement, which will prepare them in becoming effective members of an
organization. Topics include personal assessment of managerial skills, leadership, employee
empowerment and motivation, team dynamics, diversity, managing conflicts, communication, managing
change, and managing stress.

II. Course Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, YOU should be able to:

1. Analyze individual and group behavior, and understand the implications of organizational
behavior on the process of management.
2. Identify different motivational theories and evaluate motivational strategies used in a variety of
organizational settings.
3. Evaluate the appropriateness of various leadership styles and conflict management strategies
used in organizations.
4. Describe and assess the basic design elements of organizational structure and evaluate their
impact on employees.
5. Explain how organizational change and culture affect working relationships within organizations.

VII. Course Requirements/ Output

1. Assignments / Case Analysis/ Comprehensive Problems/ Reaction Papers


The module provides you a reading material from which you will be given activities to answer after
each lesson/topic. The activities serve as your assignment to be submitted through online using the
Learning Management System (LMS) on or before the deadline set. The system will refuse
acceptance of assignments/requirements submitted after the set deadline.
2. Reflection Journal
The required reflection assigned in this module allows you to record your insights as to how it
affected your way of thinking and disposition, and transformed your life on matters relative to the
specific topic discussed In the module and the course in general. The reflection paper should not
exceed the size of one 8 ½ x 11 coupon bond single space.

3. Summary
The required summary assigned in this module allows you to create your own lecture of the topics
discussed in each module. The summary should be written in ½ index card.

4. Online Discussion
The contents of the module will be presented to you using various strategies which include but not
limited to voice-cover power points, text and graphics, sample problems walkthroughs, group work,
where you are allowed to comment/react on the opinion of your classmates in the discussion portion
provided in the in-house Learning Management System (LMS).

5. Quizzes/ Examinations
The quizzes/ examinations which may be objective, essay, or multiple choice type of questions will be
taken from the modules assigned in each period. These examinations/quizzes will be uploaded in our
in-house Learning Management System (LMS) or thru any other means we will agree. You will be
allowed to take the periodic examinations only upon payment of the required fees due during the
period. The following is the schedule of examinations:
Midterm Examination October 21-23 (Wednesday to Friday)
Final Examination December 17, 18 & 21 (Thursday, Friday and Monday)
