Title of Activity 2021 Five-Day Virtual In-Service Training for Teachers by the Information
and Communications Technology Service-Educational Technology
Unit(ICTS-EdTech)
Activity The Five-day Virtual in Service Training for Teachers will be conducted by the
Description Information and Communications Technology Service-Educational Technology
Unit (ICTS-EdTech) in line with the DepEd Order No.012, s.2021. This training
focuses on the advancement of teachers’ competencies and knowledge on the
compulsory topics that are deem needed to cope up with the emerging
challenges that the recent situation and the changes made in the landscape of
the entire education system. It also aims to further expand the participants’
skills and knowledge on different digital teaching, systems and approaches that
are useful in delivering quality instruction. As what our beloved DepEd
Secretary have told, “education must continue” and so it is also our duties to
continue the programs of the department like the advancement of teachers’
professional development. The said activity shall be stream live through the
Official YouTube Channel of the DepEd EdTech Unit at
www.youtube.com/c/educationaltechnologyunit.This virtual INSET will also use
the DepEd Professional Development Learning Management System (PD-
LMS) to assess the participants and shall follow the No Output,No Certificate”
policy.
In connection with this, District of Tuburan 1, Division of Cebu Province will
actively participate the said Virtual INSET.In order to observe the safety health
protocols in this time of pandemic the location of the training is by zoning .Thus
there were five identified venues during the training namely: Tuburan National
High School,Tuburan Central School,Daan Lungsod Elementary School,Putat
Elementary School and Putat National High School.This programs serves as an
avenue to capacitate teachers on the things with great importance and with
severity in the conduct of teaching during this New Normal Era of education. In
addition, teachers will be engaged with the different online activities that will
sharpen their skills in handling technology.

Objectives
Purpose/s:

The “The 5 Day Virtual In-Service Training for Teachers” is a


training for all public secondary and elementary teachers of Tuburan 1 District
who will be the advocates ready to initiate/support in its full implementation.

Terminal Objectives:

By end of the program, the participants will be able to:


1. the understand the importance of synchronous and asynchronous
learning delivery
2. explain the effective usage of online platforms like DepEd TV,
DepEd Commons, MS
3. discuss the effective ways of utilizing Multimedia Materials
4. discuss the importance of maximizing technology on this new era
5. elaborate the importance of ICT integration in classes
6. introduce the various ways of online instructional materials

Enabling Objectives:

1. suggest ways on how to utilize synchronous and asynchronous


learning

2. show importance of online platforms on this new era /new normal


situation

3. understand the varied ways in utilization of Multimedia Materials

4. accomplish all the activities in the LMS

5. elaborate the importance of ICT integration in classes

6. introduce the various ways of online instructional materials

Outputs / Outcomes

End of Program Outputs:

A. Virtual INSET:
By the end of the training all the participants must submit the following outputs:
answered activity on the LMS
daily journals

Outcomes/Success Indicators:

- Participants were be able to comprehend the rational statement of this training


- Discuss the importance of synchronous and asynchronous learning delivery
- Participants were able to answer required outputs in the LMS

Issues Raised : 502 Bandwidth Error, can’t access LMS platform


Based from comments / discussion / sharing: During the feed backing it was found out that the teachers
found difficulties in logging in to the Learning Management System platform for these reasons: unactivated
account, forgot password, and Bandwidth error can’t access website due to heavy web traffic.
Decisions / Agreements Next Steps: We decided to continue listening to the training and proceed with
activities and access the LMS at a later time (night time /early morning), re-watch the sessions on Youtube
for clarifications on relevant matters

Materials distributed (whenever appropriate)


The teachers were provided multimedia materials and internet connectivity in order to access the National
Virtual In Service Training. Each teacher is advised also to bring laptop or smartphones for the individual
activity per day.
Other Notes
The teachers had a great time in learning new things from the different speakers of ICTS-ET Unit. They
were enlightened and enriched from the different approaches of the speakers. They were excited to get a
grasps of the different teaching and learning strategies presented from the point of view of technology. This
was a joint undertaking of schools by zone. Teachers from the District of Tuburan 1 really had a great
experience in this first ever National Virtual InService Training For Teachers. They enjoyed each other’s
company and were to glad to learn together and share new things to the students and the community.
